I am a parent of a current student and have been extremely disappointed in the quality of education and the behavior of the administration at St. Anthony's HS. My son is an honor student and unfortunately, has been harmed academically. His LIVING ENVIRONMENT teacher failed to teach ecology during the course, despite the fact that it is part of the NYS curriculum and is tested on the REGENTS exam. When I complained, they told me that the teacher has discretion over what it taught. There are NO UNIFORM academic standards at St. Anthony's. In addition, his math teacher last year was horrible. Her instructional skills were very weak, and as a result average grades for the class were in the 60's on most exams ( incidentallly, she was let go by several public school districts prior to her tenure at St Anthony's). My son had an average in the 90's in years past in math. When I voiced concern to the guidance counselor, he YELLED at me! The dean of academic affairs refused to speak to me because, "that's the policy- all issues need to be taken up with the individual teachers" was the response from the secretary, who was rude and unprofessional. This in just the tip of the iceberg, there is much more that I cannot share due to space limitations! Educational consultants have reviewed my son's academic program at St Anthony's and concluded that the academic program is severely deficient. It doesn't develop critical thinking skills, most often relies on inane assignments stressing rote memorization, and there are NO uniform curriculum standards for the individual courses!
In addition, the administration has NO interest in issues of concern to the parents. Parents are treated SO DISRESPECTFULLY!! YOU ARE WASTING YOUR MONEY IF YOU SEND YOUR CHILD TO ST. ANTHONY'S!!
All these complaints about the school and your a parent of a current student? You are beyond dumb. Get some tutoring for Jr. he is not cutting it, wake up.

<quoted text>What a dumb goon wannabe. St. Anthony's tuition is half of what local school districts are paying to educate their students! Your cost for sports, choir, summer studies and field trips are factored in you yearly budget, brainiac. So even if there are extras to pay, the cost of educating the kids are still much lower than your district. BTW is your district one of those where the parents are doing fund raising for extra-curricular activities, if not, it probably will be soon. Sounds like you kid was a bench warmer, another wannabe.
Obviously all of the kind of education you should have received at St. Anthony's didn't take. Why did you feel the need to belittle and insult the person to who you were responding? It appears unchristian to me.

After a year in HS Jesus might be able to write a sentence without misspellings and that used standard English punctuation.
What was your last comment to me Molly? Hypocrite! Remember aisle 6 for your needs.

Hey Molly, try looking at my post #7, 21 and 30 compared to yours # 12, 19 and 29 and see how outsiders have judged them. Now please stop mocking the Jesus name in your post, its not Christian like.

Your posts are under different names and I didn't see anyone comment on any of your posts. My posts were all under my real name and the only one who responded to my post besides you apologized for his post because he jumped to a false conclusion.

You are the only other person who responded to me and your responses were rude, crude and sexist. Did you learn that at St Anthony's? I don't think that was part of any lesson plan. No where did I mock Jesus, so it would be hard for me to stop.

Molly, Molly try some reading comprehension! I think you spent too many days playing hooky and getting high. I didn't mention anything about comments but how others JUDGED them! See yours(clueless) mine(agree), simple enough. Guess your comment to that poster I highlighted, where you mocked the name Jesus, wasn't crude, rude and sexist. Time for more whine?
