So what--Dean Corll lived and killed people in over half a dozen places in houston from the galleria area to Spring breach. He was always on the move so as not to alert the neighboors. The location at 2020 lamar has his father's home and he had only lived there for a few months before he has killed by henley. Get over it!!

Dear Newton:

No, you did not touch a nerve and I will take your bet any day. Your comment shows how little you know about the Houston mass murders. You strike me as the hermit reclusive type ala Dean Corll, so if you want to take a break from your daily Gore and Porn site visits and you can tell the difference between your ass and a whole in the ground head down to your local library. There are two books, both out of print, on this case. The first is titled "The Houston Mass Murders" and the second "The Man with the Candy". Now leave the folks at 2020 Lamar alone. Henley, Corll and Brooks killed people all over Houston, very little happended at the 2020 Lamar address other than the madness coming to an end.

I lived in Pasadena around the time Corll was up to his evil deeds. I've read a lot about him and his sidekicks. I don't think I'd live in that house. There has to be some bad spirits inhabiting that house.
I moved back to Indiana since then, and was surprised when I found out today that place was still standing. Contrary to what was said here, I read about 27 murders of Corll's, all committed in that house.
Go ahead and live there if you want, but I wouldn't!

I apologize. I did a little more reading yesterday, and yes, some of the murders were committed in locations other than Lamar.
But I stand by what I said, I wouldn't live there under any circumstances. Corll was so wicked I wouldn't want to occupy the same place he did.
I don't know what to think of Henley. He could have spared many kids' lives if he would have stopped Corll sooner.
Bu I wasn't there so I don't know what their relationship was like.
In the city where I live, Hammond, Indiana, there was a guy who also killed teenage boys. He had three buried in the cellar of his reNted house when the cops caught him. The city bought the house and tore it down to spare the families any further pain.
Maybe Pasadena should have done the3 same?

im from pasadena and just recently found out about the events that occurred here in the early 70's. and i freaked out a little when i realized that 2020 Lamar is pretty much down the street from me... who lives there?! and more importantly why?! i pass by that house all the time, and it creeps me out just knowing the horror that happened there.

Yeah I beleive seven or eight of the last known victims were killed there in the Spring/Summer of 1973 the last of which was a 13 year old boy from Pasadena named James Stanton Dreymala, and of course Corll himself was shot to death there.
Im afraid it would be entirely too creepy to live there for me regardless of how much 'remodeling ' was done.
Though thats just me.
Im sure the current residents are awre of its history as Im sure whoever sold it to them would have to have informed them.

Six teenaged boys,...plus Corll, where killed at 2020 Lamar. This is also where Dean began escalating and his torture board came into play.
I was privledged enough to have been given a tour of the Lamar house about a year ago with the woman who survived the incident. We had the police diagrams and crime scene pics with us and, other than the garage being turned into a dinning area, the house is EXACTLY the same! The outside was painted and a tree was planted in the yard in order to mask its identity, but it really is no different other than that. Homer Garcia was shot in that bathtub,.....Charles Cobble was almost beaten to death in the back bedroom closest to the back yard by his friend Marty Jones while they were shackled to the board because Dean told him he would allow him to live if he did,...James Dreymala was tortured so bad that Dean needed an apron.
I learned all of this from my visits with, Henley, by the way. I'm not joking. There's NO WAY I could live there.

How did you happen to be talking to Wayne Henley?
The details you mentioned ring pretty factual,Henley has historicly been pretty closed mouthed about the details of individual murders apparently he has gotten over that.
I had a feeling the Cobble/Jones and Dreymala murders being some of the last, were probably pretty horrific going by the escalation of the murders and as a rule the increasing savagery most serial killers have to resort to to 'Have Their Fun' to use Corll's phrase and still get the same satisfaction.
And both Henley and Brooks have said they thought Dean was going off the rails by the time 1973 rolled around.(And if you stop and think about the circumstances of when they started killing with Corll....thats a pretty frightening thought.)
It would be nice to see an in depth and well researched book that dealt with the case written.
I know Rhonda Williams has been doing research for her book I assume thats who you toured the house with.I sure hope she does write it and finds a publisher.

I visited the house today. As a Proffessor of Criminal Justice, I no plans to stop there until I saw 2 hispanic boys (ironically, the same age as most of his victims). They allowed me to go in the backyard. The original shed is still there. The bedroom where the Torture board was has been cut out to made to look like a patio, but the creepy pasrt is the patio is shaped the same as the bedroom was shamed. The hallway where Corll was shot by Henley is exactly the same wall, original trim on the floor/wall. THAT was pretty freaky to see.
