But the Independent Party did have a community meeting. If you rely on The Forum or Topix for your information source, you wouldn't know.
So where do you suppose voters should go for information regarding BIIP? Community meeting? More like Exclusive Club Meeting. The spinning wheels of BIIP are very busy these days.

There is an Open House tomorrow, Saturday, March 16th, from 3 pm to 6 pm at the home of Helen and Brad Breems. You can meet Domingo Vargas, Mayoral candidate and Randy Heuser, City Clerk candidate, ask your questions and get to know them. They live directly across the street from the Police Department on the southwest corner of New and Greenwood. Look for blue balloons! There will be refreshments and neighborly conversation!

Wow!
For 30 years the usual suspects, sang the praises of the Coalition/Progressive Party and Passed one Appropriation after another that was set in front of them. Scoffed at anyone who dared to question the appropriations or appointments.
Not once was a sustainable balanced budget considered.
However, everything down to the last detail has been Paid for by the Taxpayers,
who at the end of the day clearly did not get their money's worth.

People get in power, stay to long and feel they are entitled. They become too complacent and stuck which is exactly what we're experiencing.
This is where we want Blue Island?

So where will the community rely on information about a community meeting? The Blue Island TV Station mother-son team? LOL!

Open house or fundraiser ... Big difference! My understanding was it was the latter ...with invited elite .... Not the "common folk".... Speaks volumes of their commitment to all in the community ...

Good. That "news" paper is an embarassment to journalism. The entire newspaper is propaganda and self serving for the opinion of Sally May and her support for Greene and Stevo. But tit's always that way... It's shouldnt even be circulated under the ruse of a newspaper, it should be Sally's Opinions, not news. She only prints her views and interpretations of anything in the paper, completely twisted to fit her agenda.
It's a disgrace.

That's BS. That personal propaganda of The Forum is nothing but a tool to twist people's minds under the guise of a newspaper. Nothing unbiased and nothing informative. All edited and molded into a direct message. Either the same people write in every issue or only ones who agree with the message get printed. Of course there are ads allowed by others, the paper needs money to continue to print. But they are outnumbered drastically by political agendas of the staff.
man you nailed it. did you also USED to write for the forum?

I agree with the other poster, you obviously do not know what you're talking about. It's easy to post one liners, a lot of times it doesn't make any sense, just laziness. It's not a newspaper, understand that?

I've known it's not a newspaper for years, but does the entire community?
It should be called the Opinion not the Forum and there should be a notice that the paper is the opinion of one or more people of the same interests trying to poison the minds on many.

So you are undermining the intellect of the community who reads and subscribe to the Forum all these years? I think the Forum is more appropriate because the community can voice their concerns in the Letter to the Editor. Forum is a medium where everybody can participate. If you do not submit your piece, then how will it be published. I think you do not agree with the views of people who submit their pieces to the Forum and that gives you this right to discredit the publication? Try submitting your article one of this days.

This is true of all published papers. Every paper and person has an agenda and or "opinion." Name one newspaper that does not have an agenda.

" a notice that the paper is the opinion of one or more people of the same interests trying to poison the minds on many" - hey, try using that as a disclaimer in your next business venture! See how successful you'll be! LOL!

If you are saying the Forum tries to poison the minds of many, then you should submit a rebuttal for the things you think is not true and disagree with. You're free to speak your mind unless you're a loyal member of the BIIP: Gag Order!
