Another pay back for hogging the roadway, weaving and speeding in the left lane.

Statistics are between 70 and 75 percent of semi-auto accidents are caused by automobiles - not SEMIs

There are a lot of ignorant comments (five here)... My husband drives for one of the companies and they have NEVER had an accident to this magnitude!

I went passed this morning and both trucks were on the right in the truck lane, following too close possibly, a little speed again possibly but I would say somebody was not paying attention.

294 throughout the entire strech has a lot of trucks. Not just trucks but large ones. I usually see groups of three to twelve trucks. I go for weekend rides out to Will County on that route. The accident's location near 80 must have been really bad. 80 is also a heavy truck route. I am not blaming the trucks because I do realize that a lot of accidents are caused by ignorant, distracted automobile drivers; usually those under 25.

I totally agree. The stretch between 95th and 80 has a lot of truck traffic. So you have to pay close attention to the road. I prefer to stay in the middle lane because I like to do the speed limit. The left lane is devoted to faster traffic and the right lane is for retards. On my last two rides, I was passed a couple times by semis on both sides of me. They were speeding and I saw them changing lanes a lot. Talk about trouble.

My father was the driver of the semi which was rushed to St. James in Olympia Fields. He sustained serious injury to his head counting 14 stitches and 22 staples as well as a broken nose and rib along with numerous abrasions and contusions on his face knees, arms, and torso. He was discharged the next day and is recupperating at home now!! Thanks to all of you out there for your prayers and carepackages, it was by the grace of God that my father is still alive!!!

Seriously get your facts straight there buddy! If it weren't for the ignorant driver of the toyota corrola who cut the first semi off the accident would never have happened! My father has driven for over twenty years so get your facts straight next time before you start running your mouth again!!

Don't know about you, but I personally have more faith in truck drivers than I do people driving cars. You don't see them talking on cell phones, putting on make up, reading directions from a piece of paper, screaming at kids in the back seat...

I`m a local trucker and see lots of cars, weaving in and out of traffic. Car drivers cut trucks off alot of the time. they whip around a truck just to make a right turn. they must have a death wish. trucks cant stop as fast as a car.

if you are on west bound I80/294 north, that split is very bad. you have lots of traffic getting over to the right to get on I80 westbound. they have the Ipass in the left lane and cars stop and try to get in to the cash lanes and cause lots of accidents. what would you do if that happened to you? try and stop at the posted speed limit. If you can, just just hope the driver behind you can.
