Buying a house in the near future? Be prepared for the Dix at Patch to post your address, picture of your house, and let the public play a guessing game about how much you paid!!!! That's right, PATCH doesn't give two shitz about your privacy.....they want to let the world and all the criminals know that you just moved to the neighborhood so they can get more people clicking away on the site and then selling your information, not to mention TRACKING YOUR MOVEMENTS ON THE WEB EEN AFTER YOU LEAVE THE SITE!!!!
How about we post how many times Grave Line has been arrested for possession? Or what about the stalking charges??? What about Lauren's hygienic issues???? Hey, fair is fair, right???? You disrespect a homeowners privacy, expect people to get pissed off. You crossed the line on this, and I hope you're sued for spreading misinformation.

Duh -- all of that info is available publicly anyway -- no one crossed any line.

No one said it wasn't public info. What's gross is that they choose to isolate and sensationalize the sale of a private residence and disclose information that otherwise would have been no ones business. The fact hat these scumbags would do this is proof that they have no morals or journalistic integrity. No wonder they both live at home with mommy and daddy.

The patch in other communities does the same thing -- got something to hide?

All real estate sales are listed in paper, including name, sale price and address.

So if someone is trying to find out info about you and how much you paid - they can do it. Also, you can go online and find which of your neighbors are in foreclosure. All legal

Every home sale is listed in the Trib & Southtown, regardless. It's shows the purchasers name, address of the property, & $$$ paid. Not sure how the Patch was being invasive.

I work for a law enforcement agency in the area and was really upset after I put my name in google after I purchased my home and saw how easy it was to obtain all my information. Not only for my safety but for the safety of my family. Is there anyway to have them remove that information from the Internet, or is it forever in cyberspace. I understand with the Internet you can obtain almost anything you want, it just seems to easy.

Well it is public record, however, I know a few family members had it removed for the same reason as you.

Yeah, I'm not going to lie, it was a little surprising to see the detail of the real estate transaction. For what reason would that information need to be exposed to everyone in such great detail. I get that in order to purchase a home real estate companies use comp's in the neighborhood but other than that i dont think its anyones business, thats just me. I just feel like social media and the Internet are exposing to much. I liked the days when the phone book was the only way to find someone's information, and with a simple phone call you could be unlisted.

One of my favorite websites is to type in an address, you get an overhead picture of the houses surrounding it, with a list showing the names and phone#s of every house around you. So.. you're stalking the person a couple streets down, you type in the address and get the name and phone#. Seriously creepy...
