Even if Mr. Stevo wins office...who will work with him? The City Council will not work with him. They don't like him or trust him. Municipal workers will be against him because he declared he will clean house. The Police Dept. knows full well he threw them under the bus at the CASA event and will not work with him. Businesses will leave becasue they know the conditions in town will only get worse. Nobody trusts the guy. His business plan is a bust from the first day he takes office. Nobody in City government will follow his orders because he will not have any trusted people there? He threw what allies he had such as Mark Potoska who if many of you will remember, he threw under the bus too. The town will be in chaos! Hell no! Vargas it is. The lesser of the 2 evils as I see it.

What color is the sky in your world? Wake the hell up & see the political reality of it. Yes it is & it will happen? I'm talking to other voters in my ward who now are seeing the frightening reality of what may happen if Stevo wins. It is a reality you must face. Disobedience? No. Why in earth should the City Council work with a man who has hurled insults, innuendo, border line libel & slander at them? The Police Dept. knows how he feels toward them and most minorities do not trust him. The Municipal workers have heard of his hit list from one of his supporters. You really think anything is going to get done? If so I want what you are smoking.

The decision is simple, if you think B.I. is heading in the right direction vote for Domingo/Rita if you think B.I. needs a change of direction vote for Stevo/Greene. Simple,my choice is Stevo/Greene. Blue Islands last chance.

Thank you for asking. The color of my world varies from day to day. These days, it's mostly Blue as for Blue Island,as feeling blue for the state the city is in. Sometimes it's Green as in Hope because I know that's the only thing left for Blue Island: hope in a brand new kind of leadership. I already know what Vargas is all about- the continuation of what has been tried before! If they can't do the job, give others a chance, for goodness sake or for that matter, for Blue Island's sake!

Keep your so called political reality to yourself. I'm not buying it. Scare tactics, plain and simple!

Hit list from one of his supporters...LOL! You must be hallucinating!

5 Good Reasons Not to Vote for Domingo Vargas for Mayor

1. As alderman and as the Mayor Pro Tem, Domingo supported Don Peloquin’s fiscal policies that has left Blue Island with a $42 million debt.($18 million in debt and $24 million in unfunded pension liabilities)(7/1/12 Chicago Tribune)

2. in 2008, Domingo supported Don Peloquin’s bid for status as a full time mayor that would have more than doubled the mayor’s salary and bloated his state pension. Of course, if you are thinking about a run for mayor, you might want those perks!

3. In 2010, Domingo supported Don Peloquin’s referendum for home rule; a policy that would have raised our taxes without the voters permission.

4. In 2009, Domingo supported Don Peloquin’s plan to build a massive arc-plasma garbage processing plant in a minority residential neighborhood in the 7th ward. At no time, did Domingo make any kind of an effort to organize a meeting with his residents to discuss their concerns about the building of a plant in their neighborhood.

5. Domingo has never, EVER made any kind of an effort to attend the meetings of the Block #37 Neighborhood Watch Group that has met for years in the 13th precinct of his 7th ward. One would think that an alderman would be helpful to the people who are working hard to improve the ward, not Domingo.

6. He never provided water to the Block #37 Neighborhood Watch Group for the watering of the BERM! In fact he thought the whole affair was quite comical.

The previous Blue Island 43 million dollar debt, has sky rocketed to 58 million dollars as a result of no bid contracts, appointments for professional services, essentials neglected, more hires, increasing bond debt, multiple lawsuits, no financial records from the golf course for years, those funds could have been put to good use repairing bridges, streets, and sidewalks that continue to crumble. Blue Island municipal pensions are unfunded. No way to run a city.

Trust is missing, clear thinking lacking, the voters/taxpayers were duped in the past, and can no longer afford Vargas or the things he supports.

Jawa,
Pawn Shop,
The Garbage Burner, that was going to burn 4,000 tons of garbage per day,
Home Rule,
Increased municipal taxes,
Lack of Transparency,
Increased spending,
Full time mayor,
Unfunded city pensions,
Selling Bonds.

Gee judging by the incredibly huge turnout at the fundraiser at Beggars for Vargas...allot of people seem to think he is a more sane & viable candidate than Stevo or Brown. The cross-section of the attendance was was the cross section of Blue Island. He must be doing something right?
There were people from the east-side, south-side, north-side & west-side of Blue Island. The place was jammed. And it virtually took over the entire restaurant. People were pleased at what they heard and how they were given 1-1 treatment with answers that were coherent and plausible. No hysterical ranting or accusations of illicit crimes that were hurled during the CASA event. In fact most people thought the CASA event was staged and a joke. Gotta go with the people here. Vargas's people were polite and approachable. They did not make unbelievable promises or vowed to clean house as was suggested at the CASA event. Off duty Police & Fire men were there to be told that they were Blue Island's finest and not some sort of criminals as was suggested at the CASA event. Th voters there were pleased.

Can you share what you heard? Why talk so vague? Spit it out so we know his plans too.Does it concern Blue Island? We would like to know too or is it exclusively for the chosen... many donors's ears?

wrong!! on duty police were there for a free meal. the fire chief left shortly after the event started due to your boasted high turn out. The fire chief had to leave due to the fact there were to many people WAY OVER CODE OCCUPANCY Beggars was a death trap in the event of a fire evacuation. That is how the current government runs things now RULES DO NOT APPLY TO THEM Vargas and team will be another four years of the last twenty seven with the Progressive/Coalition Party ...

You just sound bitter... You assume they were over code because there were more voters there than at your event. We certainly know there was no chance of being over code at your event since there were plenty of empty seats.
