Why do I get the distinct feeling there is a personal grudge here. AND why is it when I ask Hispanics in the 7th about CASA they laugh and say "Anglito Stupidos". In fact I was directed to an ex-CASA member who made it quite clear why she left CASA and who in fact told me who is actually running it. She told me when CASA went political, that's when the bulk of it's membership left. She then directed me to other once hardcore members and they informed me of the same reasons. It is not run by Hispanics, hasn't been beneficial to Hispanics and is a blight & insult to the Hispanic community. So in summation...CASA was hijacked by non-Hispanics with the sheer gall to use the Hispanic vehicle for their own venal, and narcissistic back room plotting and scheming motivations.
The young Hispanics in the community have told me that they wish it would go away and they treat it like something they stepped in. Nice. They make a allot of noise, no one in the Hispanic community listens too. I asked the lady who informed why the Hispanics do not denounce it. She said nobody in the Hispanic community would care. It is a non-entity to them. She said a few do listen, then shrug and use a Spanish phrase which means roughly "Poor liittle nonsense".

Atypical self-absorbed, self-entitled white Anglo Saxon ticket will not win in Blue Island anymore. Not if the Afo-Americans and Hispanics have anything to say about it. What sheer arrogance to even put A TICKET LIKE THAT TOGETHER WITHOUT CONSULTING LEADING BLACK & HISPANIC CITIZENS IN THIS TOWN. WHAT GALL.

I am wondering about all the blabber here.....

Exactly who has announced a "ticket"?

Speculation will make one win/lose money in the market.
In topix, it only makes one look like a boob....

Winge all one wants to when there are candidates declared and running, otherwise post to one's heart delight at Topix, my internet reality show....

5 Good Reasons Not to Vote for Domingo Vargas for Mayor
1. As alderman and as the Mayor Pro Tem, Domingo supported Don Peloquin’s fiscal policies that has left Blue Island with a $42 million debt.($18 million in debt and $24 million in unfunded pension liabilities)(7/1/12 Chicago Tribune)
2. in 2008, Domingo supported Don Peloquin’s bid for status as a full time mayor that would have more than doubled the mayor’s salary and bloated his state pension. Of course, if you are thinking about a run for mayor, you might want those perks!
3. In 2010, Domingo supported Don Peloquin’s referendum for home rule; a policy that would have raised our taxes without the voters permission.
4. In 2009, Domingo supported Don Peloquin’s plan to build a massive arc-plasma garbage processing plant in a minority residential neighborhood in the 7th ward. At no time, did Domingo make any kind of an effort to organize a meeting with his residents to discuss their concerns about the building of a plant in their neighborhood.
5. Domingo has never, EVER made any kind of an effort to attend the meetings of the Block #37 Neighborhood Watch Group that has met for years in the 13th precinct of his 7th ward. One would think that an alderman would be helpful to the people who are working hard to improve the ward, not Domingo.
Why did you stop with just five reasons? There are loads more.

Blue Island ia a diverse community and the city council should reflect our the make-up of the community - BUT each member should be qualified and have a common focus ...improving the quality of our community ...regardless of ethnic or religious affiliation.

We need leaders that understand this and are committed to Blue Island ..not to their party or to fattening their pensions!

Judge each on their record and experience and we, as voters and residents, must hold them ACCOUNTABLE!

Don't just blame the Mayor for our current condition - also look at the Progressive party!

Topix does this to stir up chatter when other forums are not active for awhile. Maybe someone in the ridge use to live in B.I.
