Congratulations Mayor-elect Rybak! It is my hope that you will dig us out of the hole that Mayor Stephens dug for us. It's certainly going to be a difficult journey ahead, but I'm confident you have the wisdom that will allow Midlothian too be up to its potential!!

How rock bottom stunning that someone would go ahead and borrow the identity I came up with for my own commentary to make such an announcement.

Whatever. Perhaps someone discovered the value of the keywords I selected.

In the meantime, I do not hesitate in wishing every victor of the election luck and success, including Ryback.

That's why you register your name and become a registered poster. If you were posting before, you should have known that.

Congrats to Midlothian for electing a mayor that barely graduated from high school.

Can't do this village any worse than the merry band of theives that will be exiting. Looks like they couldn't lie their way to victory again.

Now that Sharon is Mayor when will my taxes be lowered and when will Cicero be filled with new Business?

the village purchased the property on Cicero and it is up for sale now. This was very smart move of Terry for the village to purchase this when the opportunity presented itself. other property such as the old family pride across from the police station has been up for sale for over 4 years because of obvious pricing issues. The structure most likely has outlived its viability. Personally I think it is a teardown. Please realize that although the economy is picking up it can only happen once someone buys the property on cicero and puts businesses in there. its the same as foreclosures once the banks that own the houses that are foreclosed on auction or post them for sale they will sell. the market time for Midlothian is pretty short and is getting faster by the minute. I am sure you were made some pretty elaborate promises for your vote but these are simple facts. please be involved we don't want to end up like memorial park with a lot of ball fields and no concession stand. stay on it you are an important part of the process.

Congrats to Sharon and her party.
I hope Sharon cleans up this very dirty house. She has quite a job ahead of her and will only be successful if those who really run the village, the department heads, become transparent to her. Good luck Sharon!

I guess some people don't care about loosing businesses, taxes going through the roof, water bill crazy high, and it is all of us going through this. We need some new leadership to get some businesses interested in Midlothian. the last 4 years have hurt Midlothian, and I understand all towns are in trouble but some are getting the businesses because they have people fighting for them. Lets hope this new administration will start a change in the right direction. It will not happen over night, but if we all go to the meetings, care what is going on, things can change.
when I saw the voter turn out, that was really an eye opener how many people really care. If you did not vote, then you have no right to complain.
