At Wednesday nites village meeting a question about the remodeling of the village hall were brought up by 2 residents. Why wasn't the ROOF of the building replaced before the inside was remodeled? Supt. Hanson tried to cover up this item by saying we put a temporary patch on it. Vince responded by saying the village doesn't have the money to put a new roof on. Somebody should donate more money to have that done. And the TRUTH of the matter is the village knew about the roof before the remodel.

The next is the remodeled restroom. The village now has to keep fans running 24 hrs. a day due to odor problems. There is also a moisture problem also. When asked about these items Mr. Hanson & Mr. Connell did not answer this question. When asked if this could be a fire hazzard, Moe came up with the answer" Moisture and electricity NO HAZZARD "

Terry Moe Vince Alan you had to spend the grant money, you didn't have the brains to do the project the proper way. Just another case of stupidity on your behalf.

My opinion:

This could become a health hazard. Moisture = Mold exposure.

The Illinois Environmental Agency may need to inspect.

If they closed the Village Hall, I guess they could conduct business under the Gazebo. At least it is warming up.

I am sure Terry and Crew support a safe work environment.

They supported the do not throw electronics out - nonsense .

IN MY OPINION
Whats the big deal

I don't have a problem with it. But I will look into it. As soon as I can figure out how to put my old socks on over my brand new sneakers.

I have read this about 6 times. Why??? Because I find it to be unbelievable. I wont claim to be a handyman but if they are running fans something stinks. If something stinks then water is sitting somewhere. What if the leak is over some electrical piping?

How can they spend all this money on the inside if the building is not even watertight?

How stupid and arrogant are these people!?!

You know how our Parents would tell us, "Don't let your money burn a hole in your pocket"? Well, Terry, Vince, MOpig and Alan "pretty boy" Moskal did just that. And as far as Terry naming a room after Mike Woike? Don't! Of course the King will do what the King wants to. As far as Arrogance goes, can't you smell it coming out of them? Oh what a difference 4 years make.

I did miss that meeting. This would be interesting. So the roof is in bad shape seems I had heard that. And it was patched. So all this money was spent inside. I hope we do not see the leaks showing up in the ceiling of the new council chambers and Dan's office (suite).

Seems you would start at the top and work your way down. Not ass backwards. Seems Vince had a lot to do with the planning. Well maybe he stayed at a Holiday Inn Express right before he made the plan. That was a joke. But what goes on is not. It just makes you scratch your head and say "what".

Some days ya just wish Murawski would have won...just have a feeling he would have handled the property tax revenue with more deft than the current administration. Now we have to slog along while they learn how to operate...spending stupidly on an in house attorney and village manager, un-needed renovations, etc.

By the time Terry & Co learn how to run the Village we may not have a Village left.

than Cent's Im a building engineer, and have been in some real run down chit holes down town..if you pop a ceiling tile and look in the ceiling with a light will you find buckets here and their ?? im not lying' i have seen this many times in my 20 years..they will put buckets under leaks in the deck and have Janitors empty them after a rain,
this was done at mid way airport last spring, but the guy who was to empty them missed one, well the bucket filled and the ceiling couldn't hold it, it came crashing down and nailed a man pushing a elderly woman in a wheel chair, I believe their is a Lawsuit over it..

Reading the tribune this morning that Markham borrowed 18 million to build a new City Hall made me feel glad that Terry is so frugal. Those of us that have been around this town will remember that when the Park District was voted a tax increase the first thing that they did was put up a new building on 145th street for themselves.

That's right. Now after screwing up the ball fields and pool, some of them feel they are qualified to work for the village. That is just CRAZY.

I first learned about the mold issue by reading a letter apparently written by Schavone and posted on Stephens campaign site.

At first, the content seems to make sense and to the point, but when the letter is put up against admission the roof wasn't replaced as part and parcel of the problem and only "patched up"?

That's an absurd expense the public is expected to accept as a last resort solution rather than a lasting resolution to the problem.

This wasn't a $300,000 investment into a critical Village asset.

This was a $300,000 gimme to whoever agreed to perform the work...with the possibility of work in the future, of course.

Wonder what will happen once the storm season is upon us. A patched roof isn't very likely to hold up against some of the winds that pass through and add some rain and hail to the mix...
