Full story: Chicago Tribune

If Dolton mayor and liquor commissioner William "Bill" Shaw gets his way, a winery and liquor store will open soon next to a day-care center, apparently in violation of state law.

Enough is Enough, we have too many liquor stores in Dolton now ,you can't fine this happen in South Holland. What is wrong with our elected offiicial. When are they going to start listing and doing what's right for the people. A liquor store isn't for the people and it's not going to put a dent in our taxes it's only going to cause our police trouble and our community heart break.

No one seems to care that liquor stores are taking over our community and our children, we tried to stop the liquor store from opening next door to our center but to no avail. no one cares about the children or the community, never will you go to Orland Park and find this happening no NEVER only in our community. AND IT IS NOT A WINERY NOT THAT IT WOULS MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE ITS A LIQUOR STORE

We need as many liquor stores as we can get in Dolton to drive the prices of liquor down, its called competition. I'm sick of paying $35+ for my Hennessey. If not, I'm going to keep going to Indiana. And who cares that its next to a daycare, I'm sure the Kids will be getting chips pop and candy from there, which will further boost the local economy. I'm all for it!!!
Yes,this is the only way Dolton will survive. BUY here in Dolton. Your Hennessey might be cheaper now that Food4Less is in town. I go to Indiana for my gas, but now that we have a few more grocery stores in the vicinity, I will just buy it here, in Dolton!***Why would you put a child care/nursery on a busy street? For the safety of the children it should have been off of Sibley Blvd., don't you think? It must be very conjusted when it comes time to pick up the children? My thought is that the owners must have gotten a good deal with the village of South Holland...****Yes, no one wants to live here in Dolton, but guess what!! There are alot of "thirsty lottery citizens" in both Dolton and South Holland. Dolton needs this tax money and if the village does not get it from the liquor stores they will try and get it anyway they can. Something to think about over a cocktail.
