You really are living in your own world. They aren't dumbing down education, they are expecting students to step up. You have a problem with them offering harder classes? Should they keep offering 6th & 7th grade level classes because that's where students fall? Don't you think that's what the problem is? We have students that aren't where they are supposed to be, hence they can't take the state test because they don't know the material they are supposed to know for the appropriate grade level. You better check your information regarding where the other candidates come from and what their agenda is before you recommend voting people out.

We were told that the kids can handle the physics first because the local feeder schools had stepped up and the kids could now handle it. Are you saying they haven't ? What are the kids that paid attention back in jr. high supposed to do wait for these kids to catch up ?
If this is such a great program why isn't Lincolnway and Sandburg pushing Physics First? If it's such a great program why don't they inform the parents and students as to all their plans. As far as voting people out I really don't think we can get much worse than this lot of politicians who won't listen to the people who have the most at stake in these schools. They denied us courses we were planning on and forced us into their curriculum. I have no respect for anyone who takes away our choices and forces us into their plan. We have had great success with our system who are you to deny us that?

hmm.$33,000 to find cheaters, but ZERO to compensate teachers! Once again this board, who should ALL resign uses Mr. Graveline as communication mode for their ideas and the leaking of policies to gauge what community reaction would be. Turnitin does NOT provide common rubrics- it does NOT explain, illustrate or direct kids on proper citation. The problem is that Dr. Williams, the elitest needs to take pressure off of her and Dr. Kendall as test scores fall, ACT scores fall, no answer for why there are less Honors classes (Especially at Hillcrest!), Well, the answer at Hillcrest is that the District Admin.especially Kendall & Williams do not believe Hillcrest students can compete with other students. We cannot purchase color Sticky notes becuase it costs 2cents more for 1000, we can't purchase colored paper that costs 5cents more a 1000 and we can't run certain classes becuase they are TOO expensive-Here is a news bulletin for the board and the District who have not 1 correct thought about students-if they did they would realize some kids will not go to college, some kids may only get an Associates Degree-some kids may use their hands to work-which is wonderful because they will be productive members of society-except to the elitist like Kendall and Williams!

From the Feb, Minutes from D228 School Board
reported the Teaching & Learning Committee met on February 11 to discuss class size, AP/Pre AP Camp, an overnight field trip request, Danielson
evaluation update, focused monitoring in ELL,an EE Code project, and the mentoring program.
I can't find any of this on the districts website they don't even post the notes from any T/L committee meeting in Feb ???
This board continues to hide it's actions from the very people they are supposed to work for.
Vote for new blood April 9th 2013 !
I wonder what school is getting the overnight field trip ???
