I want some friends of mine who are gay to be able to go to church and worship the Lord. They are two of the most wonderful people that I have ever met. They are so spiritual and seeking to be loving to all of God's creation. My biggest concern in them going to church or anywhere else as a couple is how children might perceive them. I don't believe that their sin is any worse that an adulturer. I think the problem is when one choses to live a life of sin without repenting of the sin. And don't most homosexuals choose to stay in that sin? I don't want to judge them, I want to love them, but I don't want to give the message to children or anyone else that a lifestyle of sin is okay. I am praying for God to guide me in this because I am having a hard time knowing what to feel in it.

It's the only sin that I know of that has a parade to try to get people to make then feel good about their sin. I am ashamed of my sins and would never stand up and tell the world about them and I would think they would feel the same way about their sin.

leta, your post is full of compassion and I praise you for your charity. However, gays don't "choose" their sexual orientation; it is inborn. No "choice" involved.

I just always bear in mind that God loves ALL of us equally.

God gave us a choice to sin or not to sin. Identical twins are born of the same egg. There are identical twins, one gay and the other not. Not possible to be born that way. God said "go and sin no more."

Identical twins also have a higher incidence of sharing same-sex orientation than other siblings.

"Born with it" doesn't necessarily mean as an inherited genetic trait.

Even identical twins can be exposed to different levels of hormones in the gestational environment, to name just one of many influences on development.

You're relying on an oversimplification that merely serves to illustrate your limited understanding of the issue.

No, gays don't. I guess you are attracted to men as well as women, and just chose women, right? There have to be options if there is a choice.

That's wht you are so interested in gay men, right? You DID make a choice.

Of course, because you also love men, that actually makes you bisexual, not straight or gay.

Yes but MORE of them are either gay or straight, which shows there is some genetic or hormonal predisposition.

Alas, NEVER a choice.

BTW I'd like all the bible thumpers who are so concerned about my immortal soul and are trying to save me from fire and brimestone (as opposed to the bible thumpers that just like attacking fags).
Will you do all of us degenerate sodomites your christian duty and tell us WHICH CHURCH IS THE TRUE RELIGION?
I don't know about anyone else on these boards, but America is raising a new version of Hari Krishnas in our High School sports teams. You can't go to a store anymore without some kid hitting you up for change so his school can pay for new uniforms.
So help EVERY TAX PAYING AMERICAN and tell us who's god is the real one. Then we can take away the tax breaks from the instuments of Satan and use the money to buy our kids the school supplies they need. Like Uniforms, clean towels and jockstraps. And maybe if there is any change left over we can help the band and chorus too.

Signed,
A patriotic gay man

The reason that you are having such a hard time with this is because you already know what is right, you just dont want to feel like you are not human by not loving your neighbor... god has prepared everything our lives are written, god doesnt want us to do great works out of the goodnes of our flesh... if you feel the need to pray for them then do so, to take them to an inviorment that will contradict the childrens teaching will be damaging... in your "good works" you will become a stumbling block.

This is a very ignorant reply, color, gender and height are not a choice, its called genes. It has not been proven whether sexual preference has to anything to do with that.

..........God is Love. I don't understand how anybody would believe that He would MAKE you homosexual.. when he says homosexuality will be PUNISHED.... He would not make you a particular way..then punish you for being that way. It seems that we believe IN God.., but we don't BELIEVE God!

My parter has a serious problem with the feeling of being unable to bring together his religious way of thinking with his homosexuality. Is there some information in Portugese language available? Do you know some contact in Portugal?
I was working as a volunteer year ago with Pasteur Douce in Paris. He helped many persons but he was than killed in France because he disturbed with his work.
Now many years later I meet my actual partner who has this problem but unfortunately I have no adresses in Portugese
LOVE to you all

I've been learning about your god since reading your posts (despite your lack of spelling and grammatical knowledge). It seems to me your god is the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty, genocidal, megalomaniacal, sadomosochistic, malevolent bully. Now his mindless followers (that would be you) are too busy worrying about who should be privy to enter your world of ignorance, rather than learning how to spell, write...or think.

South Hill would be better off fencing all the religeous nuts in Brodnax where they cite Bronze-age quotes to one another to their hearts' content.

Shame on South Hill for making this an issue.

People like you are a far bigger threat to keeping of the Scriptures. Jesus warned the Pharisee's about self-righteousness. Perhaps you should reread his words before you start sitting in judgement of others. And FYI, you KNOW NOTHING about anyone else's soul so stop pretending like you do.

It is all about the context in which the Bible was written. Once you understand that many puzzling verses are so much clearer. I would suggest reading Dr. L. Michael White's works. I attended one of his seminars and it was extremely enlightening.

Of course - it makes perfect sense to decide that all things being equal, it would be so much more interesting to CHOOSE to be part of a group that is maligned, despised, discriminated against, condemned to hell by the religious right, and often cause physical harm, if not death. Yeah, that makes perfect sense. IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!

It makes so much more sense that people would CHOOSE to be rejected by their families/friends, marginalized, discriminated against, condemned to hell by the religious right, maligned, and fear physical harm/death.
