What is the minimum i can pay Aaron's(rent-to-own) to avoid having to go to court?I had just moved into my new house(renting) and decided it was time to spice up the place. i knew i needed renters insurance but it was a friday and decided ill do it monday. i went to aarons friday to pick up 2 new TVs and a home theater system. the very next day (saturday) i was robbed at gun point.. they took everything from me including the stuff i got from aarons and $1,700 cash that i was using to pay deposits and other random moving bills. i went to aarons monday and they told me there was nothing they could do because there company doesnt cover theft and that i would still have to pay for the items.

yes i understand they dont cover theft but even after showing them the police report and explaining to them that i only had roughly $50 left to live on for the next 4 weeks they showed no empathy and said that if i didnt give them a payment in a set amount of days that they would sue me for theft.

my payments are $149 a month and i have 10 days to give them a payment or they are going to turn it over to the court. i know when it comes to credit cards you can get away with making less than half the payment and they still have to except it rather than turning it over to collections. could i just give them like half or less and avoid court??? at least it would show them im trying and then next month after i get my life out of a pickle i can give them a full payment. my landlord is helping me out by giving me a month free and just extending my lease and same as for the bank i have a loan with for my car. cant aarons do something like that also? i cant ask anyone at aarons these questions because they are extremely rude. what can i do? i dont want to go to jail. im only a freshman in college.. i would lose everything..
