Is anyone concerned with the current Sheriff of Mecklenburg County, VA? I am. This man has become fiscally irresponsible in addition to his other professional liabilities.

Another fine example of the MCSO Service.

On 6-26-11 at around 3am a VA State Trooper was stranded in South Hill. His patrol car was disabled. He needed a ride to Hwy. 47 to obtain another patrol car. He called a deputy and asked for help. The deputy told him that maybe one of the South Hill guys could help him out. He then told the the trooper that he was going to get something to eat and left the trooper stranded.

WTF?

That is terrible. They would never have done that in Pennsylvania. Law enforcement all get along there.

So your saying his proven record of NOT investigating break-ins on the lake is a good thing? Well I think this Mr. Fox needs to be replaced. Who is HIS supervisor? I will tell you. We the voters.

In regards to the stranded trooper, I thought ALL of the law enforcement "worked together and got along"? Or is it only when it suits???

NOW what I really, really, REALLY find strange is that a deputy involved in an accident just last week, had ALL the "BIG" guys at the local hospital, but the deputy that wrecked "before election time" and was SERIOUSLY hurt and sent to MCV, didn't see the "BIG" guys for a couple days!

I certainly understand why you are a "former" LEO. Evidently your supervisor thought you needed a attitude adjustment.

I was the person in charge! When you become so blind as to the things that are not being done in your county and when you think the current powers that be can never do any wrong, you label yourself as ignorant, uneducated, and one that is in "the click" of the current administration or a wannabe in "the click." Just because Mr. Fox was a deputy and has been the sheriff does not make him the best qualified for the job. There are many individuals in many positions of government that lose their edge over time (that is if they ever had it). They become complacent. Or in words you may be able to understand, they "dumb up." If you like the way things are currently, well then vote him back in, but when crime happens to you and you don't get the satisfaction you need, or you wonder why your taxes and his budget keep going up but the services keep going down, don't blame anyone but yourself.

Former LEO, you took the words right out of my mouth.I could not agree more! It is time for a change here in Boydton. We gave him that badge and we damn well can take it back! I wish that I could take back the vote that I gave him last time.

There definitly needs to be a change at MCSO, take a look at Dr. Greg Zwilling and all the other suposed suicides. Does anyone else in this county believe all these people would committ suicide, Especially a doctor who has many ways to kill himself other than waiting until he puts his mouth guard in before shooting himself in the head. The other part of firing qualified officers and having to hire newbies to train and qualify, wasting tax payers money on new vehicle which are now parked behind the sheriff's office now. And only putting on a show of good faith during "election year" by putting such things in the paper as a minor crash and checking on him at the hospital but not checking on an officer seriously hurt when it was not election year.
The county needs a change whether it be Hawkins or someone else, Fox needs out along with the other white shirts!

Seems a white shirt was at fault today and caused a big wreck in Boydton. Another new car destroyed and the "white shirt" wasn't even in uniform. Must have been posting "fox" signs while using county's gas. Get well soon Jr.

He got a small cut on his head thats all. He wouldn't have gotten that if he had been wearing his setbelt. Not happy that he got hurt and not happy that he hurt someone else. This is not the first time and it will not be the last. This makes two cars that he has totaled.

Do you know if anyone was hurt in the second wreck? I'm told after the one at Triangle there was a second wreck near prison rd. A sheriff's van ran into the back of a truck. I hope everyone is o.k. Seems like every time I turn around one of them is wrecking a car. Two or three weeks ago it was in the paper that one of them was in a bad wreck. I think it was around three months ago there was another one that hit a tree.

It was the tactical truck. It would appear that under the current Sheriff, there are no defensive driving classes so I highly recommend the citizens of Mecklenburg County have your defenses on the ready as well as your offensive driving skills.

I actually passed that accident and saw the trooper taking the lady in handcuffs to his car. I heard later she was drunk and weaving on the road. They stopped her and she backed up into them.
