People involved in marijuana growing, distribution felt Van Buren county would be a good place to move their operations as Berrien County was not exactly "friendly" to them.I'd like the word to get out that Van Buren, Allegan County doesn't welcome illegal activity either.

Hopefully there will be some prosecutions & jail time!!!

Was it a legitimate growing operation for medical sales or just an illegal dealer?

Times have changed and the war on drugs which is just the war on the American people and our family & friends ... This grow was a legal card carrying grow cause it was the grow from the dispencery & compassionate club that was raided on Kalamazoo st. which was not hiding in the darkness but a lit up storefront which paid taxes and only selling to card carrying legal patients who are tired of going to the black market to get their medicine ... Once they went in on the dispencery they showed where they were growing their medicine and the police did not stumble upon this but the only thing wrong was they were over their limits of plants cause two people were involved and each person is capible to have 5 patients each and 12 plants for each patient so 72 plabts each means 144 plants so the 219 plants were over and that is why the artical said >> might << be charges ...Glad to see these folks actually showing compassion and willing to be out there as a target willing to help !!

Heavy Faith:
Your math is wrong. 12 plants for five patients is 60. Two growers serving 10 patients is a total of 120 allowed plants - not 144.

I understand but a grower can have up to 5 patients which is what you said but also can have 12 more plants for themself which adds another 12 to make 72 and two people adds to 144 but still they were over ... sorry for the confusion ..

I think the individuals who are "dispensing" or "growing" marijuana need to move their operations into their communities (i.e. where they reside) and service their "patients" out of their
Cities, townships, Counties. That should be one of the requirements for the Caregivers!

We'll see how their neighbors like having folks who are compassionate and willing to help others. I don't think the marijuana is FREE-HELLO it is an income producting business. Wonder what their tax returns look like??? Someone told me that Marijuana is around $3,000 a pound? Don't know if that is accurate or not but sure sounds like a money-maker to me!!!

IF they had followed the law, they would have to require every patient produce a med. marijuana card and be legit. Sounds like the DEA sent in agents, just my guess, to see if they were following the law. Hell, when you sell liquor, the police send in undercover agents all the time to make sure you card people. I have a sneaky feeling these 2 dispensaries may have been lax in their behaviour and sold it without using legit med. marijuana cards. It definitely harms legitimate Med. marijuana dispensaries and ruins it for legitimate patients.

2nd med-marijuana place busted. at Tranquility Central on 2nd Avenue in South Haven. Comment"they are conducting sales outside of the law" Once again harms the legitimate Med Marijuana and ruins it for legitimate patients.

Apparently what is allowed for "caregivers" must be hard to follow?
