Who would imagine 25 years after a nuclear disaster(which is still leaking radiation in an old leaking facility" mired up in government Russian red tape" has now become a wildlife refuge. You can plop down $150.00 sign a release form and go on a tour of what is left schools stores and get close enough to the reactor building to not use a telephoto lens.. The geiger counters just keep ticking off showing you your amount of exposure. Area will never be inhabited-even the bones of fish that the eagles have consumed on the shore are unsafe to handle!

Residents weren't even told of the disaster for several days. They noticed street cleaning machines washing down the roadways and then evacuated on buses leaving all thinking it was temporary.

Area will only be inhabited by tourists!!!!

Yes it is true you are loaded on a bus given a radiation monitor to wear and have a guide to take you around and also check exposure levels. Wonder if one tips him when the tour is finished??
