I was just thinking. I grew up here. Our community has such a growing meth, prescription drug problem. Aside from AA and such there are no real programs within the community that helps to fight the problem. There is no where where young kids could go for help, support. I have no resources, money to make a diference. But many of you have businesses and summer homes. I see different programs and stuff. how about doing something like that.

People work hard for their businesses and summer homes. Why don't you work hard to stop poisoning yourself? Stop being a whiner, life doesn't owe you recover from your self induced woes.

We are not going to be able to arrest our way out of this problem with the currant way the war on drugs is trying and need to go to the root of the problem and fill that empty void in the soul and >> Repent << and get right with Jesus to see a real change !!

Jesus, he was created long ago to help the elite control the masses. Just as other such figures where created in other parts of the world at about the same time for the same reason :(
Addiction is a medical problem as well as a social problem that we need to work together on as a society. South Haven as a whole has a very loving community but has never needed a drug prevention task force. Maybe times are changing and one is needed.

Jesus was N.O.T. a ceated being and alwasy was but your right the drug problem is a medical thang and needs to be addressed as such and show compassion to these folks cause there are our family and friends usually ..

The topic was about the growing drug problems and the lack of support services.

The newer Judge Brickley started a "drug court" that seems to be really working. It's true you can't arrest a drug area away, but the courts are the ones making a difference right now.

Also, AA does a fantastic job. I watched someone clean up 18-months ago and they were really there for him (alcohol, not drugs...but same support people). When he didn't show up to a meeting, they went looking for him because he was facing health problems. It may not be funded well, but they also make a difference.

Too bad Jesus didn't give you a spell checker or an education. Probably Catholic school.

Maybe if the police got involved wt the community department a little more. Had a warrant or mst wanted list like in other areas on there website. Do they even have a website. That is the problem. the problem is growing but I think that out city counsel seems too busy with city street construction programs while all the kids are doing meth on the outskits of town.

South haven has a long hisotry of ignoring the NEEDS OF IT'S COMMUNITY...More than ever latey. Anyone have a police scanner? Our young locals are getting more out of control every year. Never makes it to the media. Most city homeowners have no clue. I understand trying to not make a mountain out of a molehill, but situation has grown past being a molehill years ago. South Haven Public Schools is paying the price! Some classes have near 20% of students high risk with no parental support. Middleclass families are pulling their children out for their own safety. New millage for new high school comming up. City Hall is all for it. It will make our community look good. It will draw quality families to our city. I personally feel it will do no more to help our youth than the "Beach landscaping project" did. City of South Haven has been stuck on promoting the beauty and covering up the blemishes for years risking the health and safety of it locals.

The future of the City or town usually lies with the younger generation-we are in BIG TROUBLE.

You got that right, we are in trouble. And the town is to busy with building project to look around at people reporting problems left and right. Till it bites them in the butt. Then we will referr to these conversations and say....we told you so. We mentioned the Doctor or the other problems.
