Thanks for pointing out that nothing excuses extreme bullying. It is of course possible that Ms Prince was troubled and had family issues. Bullies have a way of targeting people who are troubled, it seems to bring out their predatory instincts. Now, with the Internet, great power to do harm has been given to bullies, who can now reach more deeply into the lives of
their victims than ever before. If Ms Prince was indeed troubled, and the bullies knew this, doesn't that make them even more blameworthy?
However, I am always suspicious of these attempts to label someone as "troubled." It is easy to attach labels to people who exhibit behavior that is not approved by those in authority (including those cliques of mean girls who rule their little worlds as ruthlessly as a dictator). We will never know because Phoebe Prince is not here to defend herself, but what some might consider a psychological imbalance might also be considered an asset to society. What some might call "deeply troubled" might, to more sympathetic observers, be called "artistically gifted and sensitive." People label these things according to their own predilections, but usually the way we choose to judge others tells us more about the person making the judgment than about the one being judged.
Well said.

It says it repeatidly .The best known example is the 10 comandments "Though Shall not kill " the reasoning you go straight to hell is that you have killed yourself as your final act and therefore do not have a chance and canot ask forgiveness for your sins .Catholalism in paticular had very strong views on this but as far as I know it is still regaurded as the ungorgivable sin by most Christian followings .In no way does this mean that I agree with this in any way at all .I was just pointing out where in the bible it says this and why it is inturpeted as so .
The best biblical example you quote also happens to be the worst example. Presumably, soldiers along with murderers go to hell because they've broken the commandment "Thou shalt not kill". What of a woman who kills a violent rapist in self-defence? What of a cop who kills an armed criminal? No judgemental comments are actually passed on those that have committed suicide in the Bible. I'm an atheist, incidentally, and religious arguments against suicide don't interest me as much as reasoned psychiatric arguments based on hard evidence.

I would agree with some that someone would have to be mental ill or otherwise abnormal to take their own life. But adolescents and young adults are much different that a child or older adult. That age rage is recognized by psychologists and sociologists as a man's most influetial period in life. That is the stage where a human becomes what their society dictates they should be. It is why that age has so many rebels, and 'lost souls'. Theyre are constantly trying to find a place in society. It is a basic human instinct. And failure at that is very crippling emotionally. Honestly i think what the bullies did was wrong and they ARE responsible for this girls suicide. That should not be sugar coated. However they are children in this age rage and they have the same need as Pheobe had. Their tactics wrre onviously wrong, but that is the fault if the parents not the child.

I don't think you mean wrong or any sort of malice. I just disagree. I'd give two examples of kids raised by high ranking military parents that were known for pushing their children to follow in their foot steps. 1. Jim Morrison. Completely rebels from authority, while having the success of the education his family afforded him. Then there is John McCain, who did follow his dad's lead completely. In between these two extremes are many stories in between. I know this is not fully the influence of how you treat people, but I think that's not completly controllable. I would say you can't blame anyone beside the taker of the actions. The kids are guilty, but in my book they showed this more after the suicide.

The recent dateline show brought this appalling crime back to my attention. Just as the german people are in part to blame for hitlers horrible crimes, so are the adults that allowed the terrible treatment of that poor child! There is few things that my children could do that would make me be ashamed of them, but this degree of cruel bulleing is certainly one of them! I have a 15 year old grandaughter who is in highschool and has endured some mild bulleing, but it scares me to think of what I would do to anyone (regardless of age) that treated her the way Phoebe was treated. They should be thankful that God is more merciful than I would be.

Japanese Suicide Is Often Fake

http://book.geocities.jp/japans_conspiracy/01...

Japanese bureaucrats and politicians pretend to commit suicide and run away from their jobs.

It is a very convenient way for getting away with their responsibilities.

The police, office colleagues and their family members help them for sure.

Because the ruling class has a unilateral and secret network throughout Japan.
