Hello all, Rich in West Virginia here.
Before the jokes begin, let me say,
I am one of you.

Born on the island, in the mid 50's,
my family lived next to the Great SouthBay Shopping Center.

Tragically, my Dad was killed in the mid 60's.

We had to move south, to live with relatives.
Somehow, I've ended up here on a mountaintop in West Virginia.

Semi retired, or just living life, whichever you chose, I've
found myself looking back at my time in West Babylon.
Rolling down the grass and fishing at Argyle Lake.
Digging for clams in the Hamptons.
White concrete at a brand new place called Fire Island.
The brand new school called John F Kennedy.
The movies at the Lindenhurst Theatre .
To name a few.
So, I've been planning a week or so up there.
Nothing big, just get a motel room and hang out
for a few days. Maybe look up some family history,
revisit a few places.

Any suggestions on how the place has changed?
Places to visit and see? Maybe a Historical Archive's
Building or Committee for the town of WB?
Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks, Grado.

It'll be different but certainly a nice visit. I'd recommend strolling and eating in Babylon Village for a few hours, it's very pleasant. Check the ferry schedule and plan at least one day on Fire Island. Heading east to the Hamptons midweek is your best bet. Of course, there's the wonderful beaches. Enjoy!
