The Santa Anita Avenue parking lot of the Whittier Narrow Recreation Area became a sheriff's command post Sunday as officials searched for a man and woman who shot and wounded a sheriff's deputy with a shotgun at a South El Monte convenience store in the midst of a carjacking spree.

The convenience store they mention is a 7/11 store on durfee next to the 60 freeway on ramp. It is very common to find many officers visit this location. U usually see 4 to 8 officers at a time.
