i knew this kid that got shot, he was from my home town. it is the sickest thing i have ever heard of, he was held by a guy and then shot in the head. i can only pray to God that the punk that killed him is tried as an adult and receives the death penalty.

just want to say that i knew the boy who is struggling for his life. as a baby and fine young man. there are alot good things to say, but most of all his is loved by so many people. now our hearts have been torn apart, by some stupid people, there should be no need to take anyone life, just like that. now these boys must pay the price for the crime that was committ as adults, why because if you can shoot someone and feel good about it and think that you have done something big, like the big boys then go to court like the big boys adult style.

I know the family of the boy that was killed. It is such a pity that many lives were ruined by one stupid decision. My heart goes out to all the parents of the boys involved, especially for the young man who is fighting for his life and for Demitri's family. I did not get to know him very well but for what I saw and heard he was a fine young man that was loved by many. Funny how "national" media does not pick up on stories like this one. Had this been an incident in an affluent neighborhood and had those involved been Caucasian it would be a different story.

So sorry that it was time for the Lord to call you Home. You leave behind so many people that will miss you terribly all the rest of their lives on Earth. Praise the Lord that you will know no more pain, that you have eternal peace and joy in Heaven.

You take God out of our schools, and there's no respect for human life.

If you teach them that they're nothing but animals, don't be suprised when they start acting like animals.

It comes with the territory.

Death is a fact of life- murder isn't. This shooting shouldn't have happened but it did. Those kids should have still been in school... but they weren't.

I knew the suspected shooter. Best friends in Jr. High. I can't see him as a killer. Never could. He's a kid that made a huge mistake, but he's no cold-blooded killer. He wasn't raised that way. He was led astray.

Kea of Woodland- never PRAY to your GOD that death will come to someone. That is not what God wants. Forgiveness is a bigger step to understanding then ill wishes.

May God guide the detectives to solving this crime and may the families of this tragedy find peace in time.

Murder is a fact of life, you see it in nature every day.

Also, you forget, God is a God of justice.

That is a terrible thing to say when speaking in regards to a young boy being murdered, would you say the same if it was your child or friend, there may be some truth to it, but have some compassion for the situation, my heart goes out to demitris family.

Many of these comments are coming from friends and family who have been affected by this unfortunate tragedy, trying to make sense of this, and who are in a stage of grief. Then, we get comments from someone in Victorville, who really doesn't know what's going on in Hacienda Heights, putting his/her two cents in. Just let these people express themselves without having to hear someone go on and on about God and justice. This is not about preaching and criticizing, it's about people who have lost...

So in other words, have some respect!

As far as I know the services have been held for both boys. Dmitri died that day and the other boy, Christopher died a few days later after being taken off of life support. As far as the shooter, Chris Murray goes...I understand that he is in jail and hopefully looking at being charged as an adult despite his age of 17. The other boys involved are also in custody at a detention center awaiting their fate as well. I have no idea why this was dropped from the news so quickly but that is usually the case with things in Hacienda Heights. Because we are not a "city" we tend to get forgotten easily with the news channels.

Once again, you assume.

Let's see, Los Altos is by Leticia, Adelita, and Caricia. Los Altos is right down the street from the Coldwell Banker on the corner of Colima and Hacienda which is across the street from the McDonalds. Down the other wat is the Del Taco which is after the apartment complex at 2401 Hacienda.

See, I know the area well.

Christopher Trevizo passed away on April 08, 2006 at the age of 15 yrs-7 mo. Chris was taken from us by a violent senseless act. Three boys acted together and took the life of Chris and his friend Demetrius. By the grace of God a hisi brother was spared. Demetrius died on the scene and Chris hung on for 6 days. Chris was able to give the gift of life to others through organ donation. Chris was so full of life and had a smile that lit up a room. Never a dull moment and always a house full of friends. He had a beautiful service and Mass and was buried on Holy Thursday. At the same time Demetrius was buried in Northern California. Two angels are together looking down at us and both smiling. You both will be missed but always in our hearts. Chris you are not only our Hero but a Hero to those you gave a second chance in life. So many people are hurt and lives changed. Justice is God's and He will take care of everything. Chris always fought for others rights, gave his seat of the elderly and mom with babies, He gave his change to the homeless and he loved his parents and friends. Someone said the new does not look at these stories and drops the ball. Gossip, lies and assumptions will be said but lets pray for Chris and Demetrius' families and friends and for mothers of those boys who acted out in violence. No one has the right to take a life no matter what....people go astray but they do not kill.

I agree with the writer..It was not the victims that acted like animal but the three killers. Demitrius and Chris were just minding their own business and thier loved ones know the truth..To Bad the new media doesn't pick up this human interest story. There story needs to be told.

I know first hand the victims were already out of school. It was after 2 pm and you know nothing...Like someone wrote...Go to court and then talk...What about the parents and families and loved ones. The defendants are still breathing and two boys are dead. Another young man afffected for the rest of his life. Who you knew and who he is now are two diffenent things. Have some respect for the families. What you wrote makes me sick!

One of the worst of disasters is for a parent to lose a child in his prime years. All our prayers need to be with the deceased loved one's parents, relatives and friends. Any other discussion is moot. To honor Christopher and Demetrius, we all need to make it a point to stand up for what is right, what is moral, what is kind, and what is honorable. For example, when I was a teacher, I saw a group of teens surrounding two fighting teens, and cheering them on. Some of the other teachers just walked on by, because they were on their way to class or wherever, and were in a hurry. I took time to go to the crowd and tell them "shame on you...this is not a cartoon where the people who get hurt can just spring back to normal...and you are also complicit in causing any harm by applauding and laughing, which rewards the fighting. Go back to class or I will write you up for detention!" I managed to disburse the crowd, and then told the fighters to stop immediately. We all can do our part in the future to stop people from doing bad things. With Chris and Demetrius, I am quite sure that the shooters told other people their plans, and those listeners didn't take action to stop it. What could they have done? TELL an adult...tell the authorities. Don't mistake loyalty to a "homey" with common sense, conscience, and morality. Grow your characters so you can become respectable young adults! Sometimes, I even will tell a parent who is abusing a child in public, like in a grocery store, to stop. Or, I use empathy to get them to listen and appreciate the goodness and presciousness of that child. Yes, it takes guts. Yes, sometimes people will not like to be told to stop, or told that's not right. Sometimes they'll tell you to mind your own business. But, it takes courage to do the right thing and be willing to accept the consequences. Let's all do this in honor of Chris and Demetrius, and any other young person cut down before they can see adulthood!!!!!
