There are 2,600 veterans that die each year because they have no insurance. This is a disgrace to our country and to our veterans. Another horrible example of why HEALTH CARE REFORM IS NEEDED. And just where did you get those numbers? I researched them and all I found were left wing publications including MSNBC. So according to your logic, I should disregard all info not coming from conservative news. I actually support some kind of Health Care reform... I just do not TRUST the Obama/Pelosi/Reid Triumvirate's version of it.For one, the country is broke. We cannot afford it. Why do you think Obama is on his Asian tour? He has to sell Treasury Bonds... China is not buying..China is pushing to replace the Dolar on the world Economy with the ChineseYuan. What do you think will happen to the American Economy when that happens. Why do you think the stimulus package is not being "spent" yet? There is no money there. Yet "Our esteemed leaders" continue to spend money we do not have. They have already said "Don't let a crisis go to waste". This exactly why they want to get everything in while they can.. The glow of Obama is wearing off. Once the economy gets back up, people will go back to their fat and happy ways believing what happens on the nightly news does not affect them. At least I can see that YOU do not believe that. You and I may be on opposite ends of the political teeter totter, but at least we are watching and studyiing.(I hope)

Whether I believe the President is lying or not has absolutely nothing to do with race...If you believe it does, then that makes you an idiot in your heart and in reality.. I have never brought race into this discussion.. Only those wishing to discredit any critisism of the Obama Administration have brought it up.... That my friend is also racism of a sort. How about leaving race out of the discussion? I have not said what race I may or not be, nor what my friends are. If you think whites are the only ones who disagree with this administration, maybe you should listen to something other than msnbc. You also have a right to your views. As I mentioned MORE THAN ONCE in this thread. Yet you my insinuating friend are the first to admit I have that same right... I'll ask you. Can you show me one post or even one time I have said anything even remotely racist in this thread or any other thread? No, you cannot. But you and your's will continue to make FALSE allegations because youu cannot refute fact. So stick that in your pipe and smoke it..:P NA NA boo boo

It's all you have and it's way overdone! Worthless and baseless! Why is everyone that doesn't agree with the direction the president and his administration is taking this country in a racist? Can you even answer that?

Funny that no one ever complains about the New Deal policies from the Great Depression. Pretty similar to today....

How long do you think this has been going on? 8 years? 16yrs? Take a closer look at history...I've been watching what has been going on over there since the early 70's... Diplomacy got us what? 9-11.

Jake wrote: Funny that no one ever complains about the New Deal policies from the Great Depression. Pretty similar to today.... Actually, some do... It's been claimed that FDR's policies prolonged the Depression instead of ending it... Making it last until WWII. You can research it or I can get you the some links. People will look at what they want to bolster their own positions. Or just google this phrase..... critics of FDR's depression policy

Not to change the subject but...
I just saw a thing on from ABC news stating the ten states in the worst financial trouble, basically they are all bankrupt and some are handing out i.o.u.'s and laying off state workers because they can't afford them.
When I then look at the U.S. map (blue states vs. red states) according to how they voted in the last election. The fact that the house and senate of 9 out of the 10 states were blue. In other words, they share a mindset with our current president, house, and senate majority.
Now the national government is being controlled by the same mindset that bankrupted these states.
entitlements Cap and trade High taxes on business' and the wealthy Big government High spending Government health care plans
Does anyone out there get it? This is a recipe for desaster.
If you were a business person and had to choose a manager and you only had two choices.
Option 1. Wants everyone to be paid what their work indicates they are worth (based on what they negotiate their pay to be), and has a track record of being profitable, but has a tendancy to make decisions that are unpopular with with a majority, yet make a posative change in your companies efficiency.
or
Option 2 Plays to the masses. Puts an agenda in place that is more about regulating and dictating to everyone exactly what they can and must do so they fit into the structure of the system that is set up. They also feel that you should be able to live your life based on the pay they believe fits your needs. They also feel they should determine what kind of health benefits you need. The system that will be put in place has never proven successfull and shows a loss in about 50% to 75% of the companies that have put it in place.
As for me, I would 100% of the time go with the one that has a record of showing a profit.
Now, I'm not saying this is a dem vs. rep thing. It's a stop spending, stop taxing, let everyone work for and EARN their own dream. It's a stop regulating companies and attempting to dictate what's acceptable in everyone's personal life thing.

The President after being told that Unemployment hit a 26 year high,(the stimulus is working great! If it was so bad under President Bush why was unemployment only 3-4%)the election in the 23rd district of NY may still go to the Conservative(still counting votes!), and the decision to bring TERRORIST to NY to be tried in CIVIL court just to name a few things going on here-- gets on a plane and leaves to take ANOTHER trip out of the country! While on this trip he refuses to answer the question if it was appropriate to drop the bomb on Japan (every other President has stood behind that decision I am surprised he didn't apologize for that!) He refuses to answer questions about TERRORIST being brought here-that is not his decision. Does anyone else feel like there is a Kindergarten class running this country? When I hear the Speaker of the House and her party members say,"We won, you lost, get over it". We have the numbers so what ever we have ever wanted to get through we can do it now and there is nothing that you can do. I feel like I am listening to a bunch of grade school kids!

Here's what I find funny... By pointing that stuff out, you must be a racist.. Don't you love some of the rational. I agree with you. Congrats to those who won the elections, now they need to shut the hell up and do what's right for the country. This is kinda like working for a company that you know has enormous potential, but they just keep making all the wrong moves.

Your question does reveal something about you though. Remember what Winston Churchill said about Liberals and Conservatives? You are a perfect example. We (my generation) are the first generation of the "information age". Our views have been shaped by the information gleaned from 40 yrs of watching and listening. We also had the "feel good, can't we all get along" attitude in our youth. Slowly we noticed that not all people felt that way..Some had one thing in mind..."Death to America". That's not saying your friends are of that mindset. I do not believe that we need to deversify society, I believe we are a diverse society. America is SUOPPOSED to be a "melting pot". It is not a separator. Once upon a time, long long ago. People came to this country to be Americans. Now, some, not all, come here and demand we accomodate them. Learn their language, observe their customs. In essence, transform it into what they left. This is a nation of immigrants. Everybody's ancestors came from another land. We should be able to reconize our difference's while remaining one. I'll stand beside anybody as an American and their right to worship as they please...All I ask is that they do the same for me..

"A lot of the people from the bar get drunk and drive home, why should we all get stereotyped because some idiot ran over a family." It just doesn't make sence. If we don't look at all muslims in this country as possible extremists than we will NEVER find the extremists. I'm not saying we should treat anyone badly, or hamper free speach, but I am saying it appears a certain group is attacking us, we would be foolish not to look at the masses of this group for possible targets. This is not a racist or religious hatred of any kind, it's just common sence. If you are a muslim and this offends you sorry, get some tougher skin. I'm a christian, if christians were the group doing the attacking I would expect to be looked at differently. Deal with it.

Hi Lee: "You ought to change your mind to blind...They have always hated us...Now in this age of mass movement and new technolgies. They can actually carry out their fantasies." You said THEY, THEY have always hated us. anonomys First off, learn how to spell the word. Second, "If we don't look at all muslims in this country as possible extremists than we will NEVER find the extremists" You are a freaking idiot. That's called racial profiling. Since you thought your bar analogy was cute i'll give you one. Your comment equals pulling over a black person and saying "we pulled you over because we think you have crack since other black people have been convicted of drug use." If you're going to come off as not racist, at least make it believable.
