Jim Taylor Grilled Over Alleged False Comments

Thats probably right, he is the biggest clown of them all. Nothing else to do but make an ass out of him and our city government. If he is doing good, he can do it with a little less flamboantance (however you spell it).

As mentioned before, Mr Taylor does have a passion for this city and a desire to make it better. But SECRET PLAN? Really? Do you think that every idea in motion needs to be brought to the Commision before its even developed? We do need housing and the message that we are sending to developers is that our Commision is OUT OF CONTROL and IMPOSSIBLE TO WORK WITH...so why would anyone want to invest in an area that can't provide good city leadership! Mr Taylor needs to work within his boundry as commisioner and be respectful of other's ideas. He needs to make sure his commentary that he writes is factual. This is what he was elected to do...not to rant and rave about everything he would disagree with.

A city has the right to place restrictions on areas of towns. They could enforce a law that would require the renter to have a job and good credit. Just look what the insurance companies do, bad credit means higher rates. The samething could be done with apartments, and should be done for any that are located in high traffic areas.

You people that think Taylor is so right on... have you been to a meeting?? have you seen this guy in action? He is an idiot. He does not want or care to understand how the city government works.. He thinks he is the king of the community and has the right to be involved in all and every detail of every thing... He goes off half cocked... doesnt really understand the reality or how things work... then reports to everyone how everything is bad and not a good idea..and I dont see anything coming from this jackass's mouth.. as benefitting this MY town!

so let me guess you are way to busy to run for city commissioner so that means you can't show us how it's suppose to be done

I was a little on the fence on this one, until his recent objections to nearly half a million in grant money to the youth center.

I suppose if more white children used that facility, he'd probably support this grant.

This was all in the blog, and you can call the people involved. I understand a few thousand will be required by the city, and in return we get $400,000 adt'l funds.

the only reason why jim ran for office was they wanted to build some low imcome housing (apartment s) by his father house on 1st street. he was totally against this ideal. now he is against the apartment being downtown. so where does he want to put the apartments at. i say we put it at the 700 block of spruce. he is against everything that is brought up by someone else. he is a piece of work.

i also remember someone telling me about 3-4 months ago(timing maybe be off a little) the cpd was called to his house as he was in a fight with his on son. LOL. now he (his son) is working with him to not get those apartment up.

Why doesn't Mr. Taylor and his son renovate the old Terminal Building and put Apts. in there, or at least fix it up so it won't be another eyesore downtown. If he doesn't do something with it, then tear it down.

That is a REAL good point. If they were interested in the community they would do something. They have had that building for years and all they do is let it set there and decay. He is not for this town , he never has been, he is only for Jim Taylor. I don't understand why no one has started a re-call on him. He makes this town look bad. I was in Independence the other evening and a couple of people I know was making fun of Coffeyville because of Taylor. We are becoming the joke of Southeast Kansas. How the hell can we get people to move here when we have Taylor putting down not only the commission but Coffeyville itself. This clown needs to go, and go now!
