Well my goodness surely thats a rhetorical question! I mean, just take a drive up there. Youll get about 500 yards in and see for your self what kinda area it is...not a place where any respectable person would want toto live, let alone raise a family. The bottom feeders from SA, Jefferson, and Spring Hill can usually be found hanging around there, too....99% of the time to buy, sell, use,(and often even COOK) drugs.

I have a Great Aunt that lives out there. I always loved visiting her house. I love the set up she has out there. I have cousins out there. When I was a kid a woman sold cotton candy and one old couple sold soda and ice cream out of their trailer for like a quarter.

Not all are bad on Avesta. I have some family there. The people that live there are good but everyone has an opinion about it and think its bad. So when someone runs from the law they run to Avesta thinking they can get away. There are people there who will call the law if they think you are up to no good. I visit family there often and can only think of one person who gives people a hard time and others have tried to do something about it. I salute those trying to take back their community and clean it up. If they can get that one person out of there and get everything cleaned up, it wouldn't be such a bad place. Miss Minnie, who sold cotton candy. The Busby's who had a small store later in life, Edna who had a store in her house. Mike Adams, who was a saint. Frances Bishop, who is everyone's mawmaw, the Church with Juanita Eads and Charles Shelton. These are all staples of that community. These are all everyday heros to a lot of people not only those on Avesta Drive. You can't judge a book by its cover. There are a lot of places that have bad raps but are good none the less. I pray that you don't judge people like you do place because if you do, you just might miss out on an angel sent to you. Wait and see, God Bless you.
