Our Sheriff's Department is best that I can recall in many years. They work dilligently to find and erradicate drugs and to protect the citizens of this county. When are the citizens going to stop complaining about all the problems when they will do nothing to help eliminate them? If someone is cooking meth next door, call dispatch and tell them. If you see someone do something against the law, report it. If you take the approcach that it is none of my business, remember, they may be stealing from you next week. They could be attempting to sell that meth or prescription drug to your child tomorrow. Is that what it takes to get this county motivated to make a positive change? Do not sit around and "Whine" about our problems, or say that is job of the Sheriff's Dept or the Police Dept., be part of the "Solution". They already do much more than you realize. Regardless if you like our officials or not, you must support them while in office. If you don't, how can possibly make anything good happen in our county?

As long as they have morals I do not care. I want someone who is moral that would be of the highest criteria in judging.

you are 100% right in saying that curtis is a great man. a fine christian man indeed. i have heard many of his sermons and admire him greatly. that does not however make him even a remotely close candidate to become the top law enforcement official in this county. he is much too soft and inexperienced. special deputies have no real duties. curtis was a valuable asset as a drug education liason to the sheriffs dept. now as far as you little girl, we both know the facts. are you telling me you were not in the cruiser? i have spoken to you in that very cruiser before myself. by the way you should be studying for the nclex instead of wasting your time debating folks on this stupid gossip site. please focus on your education and quit trying to act holier than thou. we both know the facts. there was an open container and yes mam i do know you and ur family very well.

Our county has alot to be proud of. The arrest they make is unarguable. I read the paper every week and I am proud of our sheriffs department. I hate that everyone makes fun of Eddey Perry oversized body and agree that he needs to lose wait or he will die but he and his department does a good job.

Everyone wants to talk about the sheriff doing good but Mayhugh done just as good he just didn't flaunt it in the papers like Eddie does "to win votes" and he does give all wrecks to KSP but they are better at accident investigations and definitely more professional.

I really hope you are kidding about Nathan Knight. All he does is complain to the Sheriff and the public that KSP gets too many calls from our county when our sheriff deputies are ties up. And NO... KSP no longer work our wrecks because of all the whining that goes on. Please dont give KSP (the gray god's) undeserved thanks. I work VERRRRRY closely with all law enforcement in this county and I wish you could see what they do that doesnt go over the scanner or get put in the paper. Eddie Perry knows he has a great group of guys working for him. He may not be the greatest boss but he has every right to paste their work in the paper. It shows that as a whole, his department does a good job. But I definately wouldnt hold my breath hoping to see him in office for a 2nd go-round.

guys call the county courthouse and simply ask for crime statistics for the few years of the perry stint as sheriff compared to the mayhugh stint. crime is way down and its not even close. mayhugh said himself the "he" had a handle on the drug problem. aka drakesboro area) aka tony neal ring a bell?) what a joke. his hand was in their pocket. ask the deputies whom they prefer. ask his own sister whom eddie retained. guys state the facts here not just opinions. we are lucky to have a true crime fighter in perry. the previous man failed terribly and are young people are suffering the consequences.

I have never read so much junk in my life. People told me about this blog. It is the craziest thing I have ever read in my life. Muhlenberg Resident is a plant, not a law ebforcement officer. I know for a fact that you are not law enforcement officer. You lie too much to have ever passed a pops test.

As far as the election goes I dont think Perry could beat Curtis or Jerry in a heads up race. Jerry did a good job when he was sheriff. He was getting old with some of the people but many of the voters wish now that he had won. He was rough and tuff but got the job done. He has a lot of supporters out there. If you sit in a restaurant as I do and listen to the people they will tell you a lot. They are saying that Eddie is a one term sheriff. Doesnt relate well to the people. Curtis knows a lot of people and is an advocate of drug prevention. I have spoken with some that like the ideal of new methods. He would be difficult for anyone to beat in a heads up race. What will most likely happen is the votes will be divided and Eddie will win. However if two other candidates enter the race, which is likley to happen - it is anyones race. I am waiting to see who else comes out. Think there will be some suprises.

Reading this blog is upsetting! I realize everyone is entitled to their opinion but this is an issue that has gone beyond opinions. Everyone has flaws and short comings and to air them out here is disrespectful to the fine people that protect us. Eddie has done a great job! Mayhugh did a great job! I know them both they are different in there leadership skills but the same in setting and accomplishing goals. As for you "young muhlenberger" you sound like you may be a law officer (deputy) that has a problem with Nathan Knight. You all have to work together to do good in this county. I know most of the Troopers and most of the deputies all of the officers in this county are good/hard workers.

I am good friends with Jeff Newman who has a son named Wes Newman and this fine Nathan Knight you are talking about almost broke up the marriage of Wes and Mandy by having a affair with Mandy but by the grace of god Wes and Mandy are back together and their kids dont have to be raised in a split family. Nathan is also the one who was trying to get lucky with a underaged girl, by calling and texting, whom I wont mention any names and I encouraged her mom to file a complaint at KSP Post which their is a complaint on file. Yea my friend I guess morals is defently not a qualification in your book. Praise to Eddie Perry.

I appreciate knowing we might have a preditor in gray considering they enter homes in our county every day. If what is stated is the truth then I appreciate the heads up. I have teenage girls and god forsake if one of the ones we put faith in trys to munipulate one of them.

This forum has flat-lined. Back to the original question: Who will win the upcoming sheriff's race? Hard to answer when no one has filed to run yet.

Just because he had an affair doesn't make him a predator. Maybe she persued him. You people just don't get it. You're airing someone else's personal lives of which none is our business. If she was raped or abused or taken against her will maybe but it sounds like she was right there in it so give the guy a break. He has a family too. Ha Ha wrote: HE ALMOST BROKE THEIR MARRIAGE UP???
