I have looked at the new logo. In my opinion, along with a few others, it is not the best it could be. The logo quality doesn't even compare with the artwork that the Suns or the Stars were done in. Very unprofessional job by the board in my honest opinion. And the t-shirts are horrible. Who thinks we need to fix the new logo???

The board has screwed this up from the beginning. Go Muhlenberg County. People think we're stupid now and this whole fiasco sure isn't going to help. Although I have to say, it has to be better than the gay sun & star...sheesh.

I don't understand the concept behind the ugly ass mustang. Muhlenberg County is known for it's COAL MINING, so why wasn't the overhauled (cough, cough!) school system named the Muhlenberg Miners? For that matter we are known for our good drugs, too. Muhlenberg Methheads, wait, the Methheads are the one's who chose to mix everything up and make our county look even more stupid, imagine that! But I agree, there is local talent that could have drawn up a much more professional and appealing logo! Go Mustangs?

I agree with you all. The colors suck and the horse is stupid. One poor child on the news said (and it's not a direct quote but a synopsis) "I love the Mustangs and it's great because Kentucky is known for it's horses..." HELLO? You can tell what we're teaching them too. Miners would have been better with black and silver colors. But like Ha Ha said, Muhlenberg County has screwed this up from the beginning. It figures.

Muhlenburg County also has been known for the great basketball teams that it has had.

Why not name them The Muhlenberg Balls?

Hey Sunsman, that was a real kicker. Got us all rollin' in the floor. Grow up. Your mama would probably be ashamed of your grade school antics.

I don't know why they didn't enlist the art students of the county to design the logo. We have some really great artists in the school system and they would have done a more professional job!

Muhlenberg Miners???....Kentucky had problems with the Texas Western Miners in 1966.

The new logo may have been designed by the rear of the mustang not the head.

I am very disappointed that the new logo is a mustang. What does this have to do with Muhlenberg county and our identifying heritage? It is a shame that our coal mining heritage is vastly unknown by today's students. Muhlenberg Miners- that's what we are. We should honor the men and women who went down into the mines and slaved away. They went to early graves with black lung and mining disasters.
We are still sitting over coal and old mining shafts. What does a "horse" have to do with anything here? Absolutely nothing.

Do you have any idea what kind of image that would project for us? Hell people in Harlan County think we're uneducated hicks right now. The reason most of those men went down in those shafts is because they lacked a good education and they could make a lot of money risking their lives. My God, what are you thinking?

Looks better than the "NEW" county logo that was in the paper.

It not a surprise that anyone does not like the new Mustangs logo. Against the merger, against the basketball coach, now no one likes the logo. Is there anything you people DO like?

I do agree that it does not look as good some I have seen, but after all how much can any artist do with a horse head? And those colors! I know for a fact that the kids at the high schools picked those, so go figure.

The logo, merger and the boys basketball coaching job are just like a big terd! It will pass...

Excuse me for mis-spelling the word turd! I am an ex coal miner and my heritage got in the way of my education. For your answer to what has a horse got to do with anything here. One thing....you are full of horse shit!

Yeah, that's why hardworking men and women are down there today huh? To keep coal flowing & keepyour power on. Uneducated huh? Don't stereotype. My husband has a degree but the money is in the mines & the taxes benefit this county. What are you thinking?

Congratulations!
He's in the 5% that have degrees (most are supervisors or managers). I still think Mustangs was the better choice.

i think getting a sponsorship from Ford and putting the car on the logo would be a better decision...
but the money that it could make wouldn't even make it to the school, it would end up lining a few ppl's pockets...
i see more Ford mustangs around muhlenberg than i do of the living horse variety...
maybe someone with a mullet driving the car could be the game mascot :)

Daily Horoscope for November 11

Cancer

You can enjoy today's energy, no matter how frantic the pace of life might seem. Plan to meet a friend for lunch and talk about silly things; there is no need to stay serious all the time, so let loose for a while. Pick the brains of someone older and wiser. If you're the oldest person you know, you'll be surprised at how much wisdom can come from the mouths of babes.
