It wouldn't make a difference. People would be able to get those items on foodstamps and use their cash to buy pop, candy etc instead of using their foodstamps to buy pop and candy and their cash to buy items they need. It wouldn't make a difference.

i think that you should only get food stamps only your laid off!!! not just because your dont make enough or your income is low get a job and learn how to budget!

I get foodstamps I worked 2 jobs and go to full time school I just lost one of my jobs and have put in apps everywhere. If we didn't get the foodstamps we'd be in a bad position.
I really wish that people who have the way set out for them or the oppertunities to get what they have could shut their mouths about the ones who need the foodstamps I know people who need them bad but won't get them because of what everyone say's about it. Instead of paying their rent they buy food but some places like i live in if your electric gets shut off you get kicked out. People just need to grow up if they can't do that shove their noses elsewhere in their own business.

Sorry about the ranting, just tired of hearing it I'm proud to have some help. I wish other people who needed it wouldn't worry about what the mean people think about it. Have a good night :)

I agree with you, I worked for twenty years and am now sick and cant work, wouldnt ba able to ffed my child if not for the help I receive!!! and no his dad is not a deadbeat, pays more child support than was required. The people who are complaining about people needing some assistance will someday find trhemselves in need and be thankful that the help is available! and thanklful that their wont be hungary Yes I also agree there are some people who abuse the system but there are just as many that need the help!!!! Its a shame that some people that need the help ont go because of the stigma put on people who reveive foodstamps! there is a program that puts cash in an avvount that is to be used only for toiletries and over the counter meds thie list that can be purchased is very specific but it covers the basic needs I dont qualify for that but know a few people that do!

I have applications in every where. I worked at a fast food resturant, I have apps in at all those place I have turned in 12 apps not including the ones I filled out online and at the unemplyment office. I go to full time school and have a 10 hr. job now I don't sit on my ass. Your type is what makes me so mad, I never get upset mad about much at all, but people who think they are better then everyone else. I've had money Ive gotten anything I needed and wanted. Now I am just trying to get by. What you say about others has impacted the way others look at you.

But as for the single parents out there that do know how to budget and you know if you cant make it on the job then go back to school thank goodness for your president you get paid to go back! Let me tell u something dumba$$ i dont get foodstamps nor do i get a check from any other means than my job, but if i did i would not use it for pop and bon bons! My mom left my dad cause he couldnt keep his pants up an he did not pay child support for there 3 kids. Without foodstamps she woulda of had to give us up, we were not given pop and candy. I have seen people in these grocery stores buyin $75.00 of pop and so durty the smell would kill u standin behind them. So before u assume the worse just think not even one sits on there a$$ eating some use it to feed there families.

say what you want but I sure hope that nothing drastic happens in your life, like cancer that cause you to really need the help so you can feed your children yes there are people out there who have never worked a day in their lives and then there are people who have things happend to them beyond their control and need the assistance hope you dont need it someday so you have to eay your words

No one knows anyone elses situation or why they need foodstamps. You shouldn't know because it's none of your business. That is between the Commonwealth of Ky and that person. As for candy and pop vs. wash powders??? Even people who have trouble like the occasional piece of candy every now and then, just because they have trouble doesn't mean they should be denied something so small. Or what if they have children? Some people like to reward there children for being good... what's so wrong with it? It's not a crime. I'm sorry, but I thought this forum was going to be important. We should be worried about the drugs going around in Rowan Co., not pop and candy.

But I went to bingo the other night and watched a woman who won a tip bucket pull out her wallet and getting more money had a food stamp card in her wallet. Now this is sad if you can't make ends meet the last place you need to be is at bingo and drawing food stamps.

i agree with you. my brother gets social security disibility and buys lottery tickets. he also gets food stamps. he is married with 2 kids. he is broke by the middle of the month and comes to me begging for money.

I'm not saying that going to Bingo is right or wrong. I don't think people are any better or worse than I am unless they have done me some kind of wrong and proved to me that they can't be trusted. Letting people live their own lives and not worrying about what they do, however, will benefit you. Why stress out over it? There are some people out there who cheat the system and then again, there are some people out there who really, really need the help and appreciate it. Bingo can become an addiction for some people especially if they are lonely and have nothing else to do or no one to talk to at home or maybe they have won a lot of money before and are hoping for that streak of luck again. Either way, we live, we breath, and then we all die... in the end, I don't think none of it really matters. In my opinion, when I stand before God on the day of judgement and he asks me why I done this or that... I want to be able to have a good answer instead of looking foolish.

I think people on food stamps should be able to buy things to keep clean. Also people on food stamps need a treat from time to time just like everyone else. Not everyone on food stamps is unemployed. At one time my family was on them and we were working full time jobs. Now we have higher paying jobs and all of our kids are working except for the youngest and that is only because that child is to young. We no longer need food stamps.
