I have noticed a very petite, older woman dressed in all black that walks all over Morehead every day, sometimes carrying a trash bag over her shoulder. Rain or shine, she is out there just walking the streets. She is african-american. Does anyone know her story? I feel bad for her :/

I'm not talking about the woman with blonde hair who jogs everywhere, she's obviously out there exercising. The woman I'm talking about is african-american and dresses in all black. She's a really small/thin woman.

The little lady you are talking about is homeless. She stays under the bridge on 519, right pass the shell sation.I feel so sad for her, but she will not accept help from anyone... I know a couple of people who have tried to help her and she wouldnt let them.

This woman won't even tell you her name. There was a guy in the library one day trying to talk to her and it's like she's a ghost.

Not everyone who is homeless is that way because they have no options. There are those who choose that life, for whatever reason. The do not (in their minds) need help, nor will they accept it. She is apparently able to have her needs met without being a problem for others. I give her credit, her way of life is much less offensive to me than seeing those very able bodied young people who stake out the busy corners by Walmart and the Kroger center with their signs begging for money, food, etc. You have to wonder what her story is, though.

She sounds like she has drank so much she has "wet brain." Ask any reformed alcoholic what that is & how people act when they have it. They can't even speak two words coherrently.

How do you know she lives under a bridge? I don't understand why she won't accept help, what will she do this winter? I understand it's her choice to live this way though. At least she isn't one of the beggers by Walmart or the Kroger plaza :/

This thread has been on here before--like 2 years ago. She either goes south during cold weather or has lasted 2 winters there. At least this past winter wasn't harsh.

I know the woman you're talking about and have also heard she lives under 519's bridge. I have never seen her there and have been under there a few times. Mostly you see her walking down 60 and she is always - always wearing black. I kinda felt bad for her but then I remember we do have a homeless shelter, a woman's shelter, ect. ect. So - she is choosing to live this way. I'd like to know her story too but honestly.

I dont know for a fact that she stays under that bridge, but have heard from lots of people that she did. I live up 519 and see her around the bridge almost every afternoon, so just thought it must be true.

She can speak, I've heard her. But she won't have anything to do with anybody. There is help but obviously she doesn't want it.

Hey name is Omi. She will not accept help from anyone. She collects losing lottery tickets because she said they burn longer for warmth. She dumpster dives. She is a really nice lady. As far as the people by the interstate begging money, have they not heard of food stamps? And small children living under a bridge? Yea, CPS would have them in a heart beat.

I have often wondered if she is on some sort of mission or something. You never know, we may have an angel living among us.
