Gay Bar Opens in South Burlington

I hope the owner learns to be a little more friendly. I am not rating the food at this Bistro, but rather the club it turns into at night. It was a good experience with the people there, great friends made that night as we were up with a bunch of friends already. However the owner when it comes to the club part is a bit of a watcher and also has a problem with younger having a good time in there. Seems to have it drilled in his head that if you are younger you are not responsible. He kicked one of our group members out for requesting a song and then asking over 30 mins later as to when it would be played. A bit of a problem as the owner of the club (at that point). Would not recommend any new people going to this establishment as it seems to be for older and locals. Hit the bars downtown, much better and just as good people (straight or gay)! This comes from a club owner myself of course he did not know that when speaking with me.

The food is bad and the place is boring.

It's behind a Quizno's in a strip mall. The owners are not local and are obviously trying to milk the community for money.

The staff is rude and the music was boring. I'll stick to the Third Saturday Dance Parties at Higher Ground.

Is this a good place to get my fudge packed?

What Jim doesn’t tell you that his friend who was asked to leave was acting very inappropriately .The young immature “BOY” was obviously hyped up on steroids based on his aggression, acne, and the need to wear a t-shirt from Baby Gap. I witnessed this neandertals verbal attack on the DJ. I’m sure Jim, as a club owner as well, would have done the same thing.

The music could'nt have been that boring seeing it was the same DJ who has been spinning at the third Saturday dance party for the past 2 years.

Actually Rob Douglass, the new DJ at the gay bar has been a guest DJ at Higher Ground, but not the regular DJ. Alan Perry is the DJ for 3rd Saturday and has had a few guest DJs spin with him, including Rob and Eve (all brilliant).

1. Funhouse at 1/2 Lounge on Church Street, the last Saturday of every month.

2. First Friday at Higher Ground. Although they've recently been changing up the DJ's and that's NOT a good thing.

3. Pop Up Dance Parties run by dj llu. So much fun.
