If someone truly loves you, they will stand by you no matter what. For some, it is simply the thrill of the chase. Once they get what they want, you don't matter to them anymore. They could care less how much they hurt you as long as they are satisfied. What they need to remember is that they will hurt just as badly at some point in their life. If it is a lie that is keeping you apart, then one day they will wake up and wish you were by their side. They will realize how stupid they have been and that you would never hurt them intentionally. They will wish they hadn't let go of someone who loved them so much. Too bad that when that one day comes, that person will already be with someone who truly loves them and knows that they would never violate the trust of someone they love.

though, why people whose spouses cheat on them, stay with them. To me, that is the absolute worst thing that could happen. The person doing the cheating is basically telling you that they don't really want you anymore and that you are not enough for them. They may not leave because they don't want to lose everything they have, so they will either lie very well, or cry and beg for forgiveness just to keep their personal belongings. They may also stay because of children. To me, that is just showing your children that it is alright to stay with someone who cheats on them. What kind of lesson is that? That is one time I would not stand by my husband. I also would stand by him if he abused me. I have enough confidence in myself to know that I will not be a door mat. If you stay with someone like that, whether they be male or female, you are selling yourself short. You deserve better. And rest assured, they will do it again.
I have a friend in that situation and she has basically convinced herself that everything is alright. Well, it isn't. He had contact with the woman for a very long time. It wasn't just a one night stand. My friend knows that, but won't better herself. They have been married for a long time. Don't get me wrong, nobody is perfect. I just think she should wake up and realize that there is a whole new world out there for her. I do understand how you feel though. Hope things get better for you.

I agree. That is the time to kick them to the curb. I wouldn't stay with someone who cheated on me or mistreated me. My situation is that someone told a bunch of lies and the person they told them to didn't care enough about me to believe my side of the story. I don't need somebody like that. I have moved on and recently married. I am happier than I have ever been in my entire life! I was just having one of those moments when I wanted to say something to him and this was my way of saying it. I hope things get better for your friend.
