Police justified in deadly South Boston shooting

An investigation clears a State Police agent in a deadly shooting last month. Halifax County Commonwealth's Attorney Kim White says the fatal shooting death of Randolph Neal Seamster Jr.

theres no way in hell this was justified! the story doesnt even match the video . there are to many lies in this pic! but what do you say .everybody knew the police was right.weather if there really wrong you know that kim white was going to save there asses. any cop at that has the right to kill and get a way with it .thats american for you . now people need to stand up and change this shit thats going on ! instead of running there mouths about bullshit that doesnt even matter what about the killers that are on the lose now as we are speaking and have not got caught how about the cops not doing nothing about it !the people dont care in this world untill it happens to them or one of there family members are involed! think people care people .we live in a fuck up world because of no good people and crooked people! how i pray each night for jesus to come back and destory this world we live in and get these no good people out of here! and guess what that day is comeing and real soon! there will be a judgement day!

Shadow, I reserved judgement on Mr. Seamster until now. Now that the video is out and the legal explanation has been provided, then I will go ahead and say it.
Neal was an idiot. His actions led to his own death, he got what he deserved and based on the report from the Commonwealth Attorney's office, it sounds like he was as much of a piece of crap as his brother, Barry.

The cops had EVERY reason to use the force they did. They had to make a SPLIT SECOND decision.

Anyone who sees that video sees Seamster almost kill the two bicyclists and he was getting ready to head back through the busy parking lot (instead of exiting onto 58) where he could have injured any civilians, run into a gas pump, etc.

LAWFUL citizens don't run from the police. Period. He was doing something illegal and he got caught. Instead of being a MAN and just accepting that he got caught.....he tried to FLEE at the possible cost of innocent people's lives.

Mr. Seamster didn't care about who he hurt. He only cared about escaping from the police. He showed a complete disregard for others' safety and there was no way he should have been allowed to go. In that video we see how reckless and selfish he was being. If they hadn't stopped him....he probably would have run into someone in the parking lot (possibly a child) or gotten into a wreck on 501 South.

He was doing something illegal. It wasn't somethign worth dying over. Mr. Seamster is the one that chose how his life ended. HE is the one who showed no respect for the law or other civilians.

Anyone that thinks differently needs to put the bong/crackpipe down.

I lived about three miles East of Sheetz on 58 when all of this happened. My toddler daughters and I used to go into that store all of the time. I watched that video and saw that your buddy was in the wrong. I also thought that on any other day my daughters and I could have gotten plowed over by Mr. Seamster in his attempt to evade those officers.

I never said you were homeless.....but if YOU are I am sorry. Were you, perhaps, Mr. Seamster's roommate and you can now no longer afford to pay the rent and now have to couch surf on your high-school friends' couches? There are resources that can help you out. The jig is up Shadow. The tape is now out for all to see and we can plainly see that Neal Seamster made some crappy choices. I've also read the summary of the events as well as a summary of Seamster's illegal exploits. I have the utmost sympathy for the man's mother and family, but he asked for it and he got it.

First off how can you pray for someone when you are on here doing just what the bible says not to do? Kim White wanted to add his record so she hoped to show people bad things about this man and for some it worked.The video really didn't show things the way she said.The guy in the van had his gun out as soon as he got out the suv.The guy talking to Neal went and got in the suv,the other guy was chasing the suv and was almost like hanging onto the car with his gun out but never shot.The Lewis man came out and ran for the car getting in its path to roll over and shot.The bikers were well out of harms way when they came out.On the tape the car was no where near any one or car.The car never moved that far and Kim White said all this took place in 16 seconds.The cops were really pushing to get a guy with a joint.Why didn't the first cop take his time and bring his badge out in the first place before talking to Neal?He admits he never said police to the guy or had his badge out.After things got going it was hard to stop it all in 16 seconds.The guy ran from what,a man comming up to his car,no badge,not saying police,and you all want to read Neals mind and say he should have known this was a cop.maybe so maybe not. 16 seconds 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16! A young man is dead.From beginging to end

I think you cared alot about this guy and it really shows.Your hurt comes out looking like hate and angry. There are those that believe the way you do and there are those that don't.The ones that don't will never.The cops want to spend time showing how bad the guy was and all his crime but at the time this was not known but yet when explaining just cause its a big hit,why because it makes what the police did sound so good.Witnesses are just that,cops witnesses.In 16 seconds you ,me or anyone can't take in the whole thing in our minds,but we can be lead to think this is the way it is.Please watch who prays for you.

I just don't think it is as simple as all that, Bob. These were undercover NARCOTICS officers. They are probably trained to be on alert (ie: have guns at the ready) when dealing with people under the influence of drugs.

I saw a police officer approach a car where this idiot was rolling his Blunt in BROAD PUBLIC DAYLIGHT. This is a police officer, he is doing his job. Seamster is the one that chose to FLEE. The minute that badge was out he could have stopped his car. He didn't do that....he kept on pushing it and he hit two officers. And the bicyclists had to swerve to avoid being hit. They were in his DIRECT PATH and if they hadn't been alert they would have gotten hit. Seamster didn't see them....he was too busy trying to keep his butt out of jail.

Seamster's criminal record DOES matter because it gives him MOTIVE for wanting to flee. If he had a clean record then the "I thought it was a car jacker" excuse would have flown. But since we know that there were SEVERAL things going on in his life, criminally, we all know that he was one strike away from some serious jail time. He had a reason to flee. THAT is why his criminal record was brought out, not because they are trying to say the cops knew this beforehand.

Those cops saw a dumbass in the parking lot rolling a newly purchased blunt in his car. These cops are TRAINED to know what someone emptying a blunt looks like. They did their jobs. Seamster chose poorly. They attempted to stop him. Seamster almost killed the bicyclists, another motorist and those officers. If they hadn't shot him...he probably would have hit someone in the parking lot or down the road on 501 South.

This isn't late night TV, this isn't corrupt New York City. This is South Boston. These are some really good guys on the local police department. They care about their community and just want to make their corner of the world a better place. They were doing their jobs.

As far as me praying for Shadow....that was me being sarcastic. He was the one referring to the bible continuously and I just thought it would be interesting to throw it right back at him.

Shadow, I am sure, is suffering some extreme denial because his friend/family member got killed. But blaming these police officers isn't going to bring his friend back and it isn't going to turn Seamster into a good guy. I do not think Seamster was a classic good guy. He sounds like a thug to me.
