Boy is OC going to hell in a hand basket. Last weekend, Memorial Day Weekend my family and I went down for the first and now last trip of the season. Seems OC welcomed a Motor Cycle Club (Gangs) from NYC and it was BEYOND noisy. I thought it would quiet down after midnight but it continued well past 4 a.m.? They don't sleep in NYC so they think they can do that in OC too??? What the heck??? Motorcycles screaming up and down Coastal HWY and Atlantic Ave until 4 a.m. are just UNACCEPTABLE. A curfew on excessively loud motorcycles should be put into effect around 1 or 2 a.m.
I talked to some locals and they said it's really sad that OC is kissing everyone’s butt to come no matter what they bring to the "Family Friendly" OC. The person I rented from said rental property owners have to pay for a "Noise Permit" every year but the LOUD motorcycles can distrub the whole city all night if they want.
We are very disappointed with OC and think it's lost its CHARM, Big time!!!
I heard many people talking about the awful noise so it wasn't just our family. I heard the Delaware Beaches don't put up with that crap, so it looks like our next trip will be there.

We were there as well. Our family will not be returning anytime soon!!! The multiply fights on the boardwalk, rude people from "out of state" and the gang members made us feel very unsafe. The motorcycles were very inconsiderate of other people on the road and certainly of the fact that at 3:00am - 4:00am most people are in bed. If OC doesn't get a handle on this they will lose the decent people that do come there and spend our hard earned money. Looks like some of our summer family vacation will be moved to the Outer Banks or Mrytle Beach where I don't feel like we are in danger.

I also was down at the beach that memorial weekend and it was unreal the things that were going on, i saw 2 fights friday night, one occured earlier in the night when families and little kids were still on the boardwalk.This occured right in front of tony's pizza these people just start fighting out of know where, where people have kids in a stroller they have no respect for anything anymore, they dont care who gets hurt for the few minutes they wanna fight prob for a really dumb reason and the second fight of the night they shut down a part of the boardwalk because a woman was leaving in a stretcher, this is not okay for the people who come their with families to enjoy the boardwalk without all that crap happening i will not return there until it gets cleaned up, also when you are walking down the boardwalk all you here is f this and f that luckily i went down without my child and i am very glad i did because i do not want my child around that. if they want to fight they need to take it back to where they came from and stay out of ocean city becasue your not welcome if your going to act like that.

I never heard so many sirens before on a Memorial Day weekend as I did last weekend in OC. It's this sort of crap that makes me more and more reluctant to venture out of our private development with my children when we are there.

Ocean City is a wonderful place to visit, but do take into consideration the events that occur during certain times of the year. These events bring much needed revenue to the town. Also, take into consideration that mid May to mid June is "Senior weeks" so if your looking for a time for "family" fun, you may want to consider July, August and September months for vacationing in Ocean City.

I was visiting this week with my 13 year old daughter for a lacrosse tournament. I agree that it is absolutely obnoxios. My daughter accidently bumped into a teenage girl and she looked at her and said "wtf". I couldnt take a walk ANYWHERE without listening to obscene langauge and badly behaved (drunken) teens. I have a hard time understanding how parents allow this to happen? I was not able to get a decent nights sleep for the 2 nights a stayed sue to the loud cars racing up and down the street. I really dont think I will be returning. I felt badly for the parents with much younger children that were having to hear and witness this awful behavior.

I was in OC over Memorial Day weekend AND last Saturday and I do understand what people are complaining about.

What you see is unfortunately a product of the lack of discipline and failure to teach respect by the parents. Many of these young people could care less about you or anything else around you as long as it does not interfere with what they want to do.

Keep in mind that for every two disrespecting young adults there is always a good one ...

As far as the motorcycles are concerned - I don't think these groups should be considered gangs. There were a bunch of motorcycle groups that consisted of mainly black young adults from surrounding states. And yes there were alof of them ... Some were very nice and respectful of others but unfortunately a few ruined it for everyone. Isn't that always the case?

As a father of two - not one time did I or my family feel threatened. I just hope that mor e people will realize what their lack of parenting is doing to our society!

I disagree with one of your comments the ratio is no longer 2:1 we are no longer that lucky. The mental defectives far outnumber those respectable young adults.

But how can this all surprise you when these kids come from broken homes, and raised by parents or single parent who lacks any class themselves. You can't pass on to your kids what you yourself lack.

Just check some of the responses on this thread we have two "adults" at least old enough to drive and carry a gun, posturing with their make beleive "macho" from hundreds of miles apart believing that proves something to someone. Proves insecure people need to hear themselves on any possible occasion. And idiot can get a gun that doesn't make you a man or a tough guy. If you need a gun to prove how tough you are take my word for it you're not that bad. Just a small man trying to pretend they have some balls.

As for OC seems the class of folks visiting has gone down in the recent years. Macho men with guns, knives, and this on vacation! But you toss in a few beers and the idiot comes out in most of them. Just reading the news you get the impression the ratio is far from 2:1 kids or adults. For some being on vacation requires them to throw out any sense of class or dignity they would normally have or pretend to have and go on a week long binge of booze and stupidity in the search for a good time. And these are the adults how can you expect their kids to act differently?

I've been coming to OC almost every year since I was born. I'm now 31 and haven't been since I turned 30. I want to come soon but with all the things I'm reading I can see that the problems I saw when I was 27 or 28 have continued to grow. I remember when OC was predominantly white. I was excited when I saw folks of other races (this includes blacks AND black BIKERS) starting to enjoy the beach too and knew that there would be trouble but kept hope alive that we could all be adults. OC is a place to be enjoyed by people of ALL races,creeds,colors, and backgrounds. I speak as a white guy who used to ride a bike before it was stolen, and who is actually glad to see a racially diverse man in the white house.

The thing that kills me about oc the most is how it sold out to condos....such a shame the quaintness of the town has been destroyed by greedy developers.

I see a one armed guy from Bosnia making burgers---the funny thing was that a few years before this, I saw THE SAME GUY in Europe! We were trying to save their sorry asses and now he is screwing up my order in Maryland--what are the chances of that?!!
