NetFlix is NOT better than Blockbuster's Total Access.

Where else can you get movies mailed to your house (for the same price as NetFlix) BUT have the ability to trade them in to your closest local Blockbuster store for a FREE rental!

Guys and Gals.... don't knock it unless you try it.

Blockbuster also has the 2 week free trial for this program so even after the two weeks if you don't like the program you just call and cancel. It's that easy. I've done it and I've done NetFlix. Blockbuster's Total Access is much, much better!

We just gotta stop those stores from closing!

Disagree with all posts supporting Blockbuster. Netflix is superior. If you enjoy going out renting DVDs, go to the library. It's free and there's better service.

Netflix doesn't offer store exchanges and I have to wait a month for many new releases. The library doesn't carry much and 1-2 copies for what they do have and it's always checked out. Sorry, Netflix blows. With Total Access, I get more movies a month and on time. :)

Netflix management realized that the movies should come to the customer and not the other way around. Going to the rental store is so 20th century.

once upon a time we all read and told that "no one would ever shop inside a mall" due to online sales and offers. That really never happened because people want and need to get out of the house! The same is true for video stores. While video stores may not be for Dan the Movie Man and Finding Nemo they are still good and work for a good part of America! The customers will vote with their dollars. If you support your local video store then tonight: Make it a Blockbuster Night!

It's really hard to post comments as a customer when there are bitter angry ex employees that want to see the company fail only because they were let go for whatever reason. Even if you prefer Netflix, wanting the company to fail clearly comes from resentment. Closing all the stores effects me as a customer and thousands of employees are going to lose their jobs, jobs that they want otherwise they'd quit. If you no longer rent from blockbuster, what does it truly matter to you? It doesn't effect you whatsoever.

Change is upon us whether you like it or not and that change includes the elimination of Blockbuster stores. Out with the old and in with the new.

The only change that will be upon us will be expected increase prices from Netflix and Red Box. When competition is removed then we move closer to a movie monopoly from Red Box and Netflix. Isn't it also noticeable that after Hollywood and Movie Gallery went out of business BLOCKBUSTER changed their rental terms and re-instated the late charges. Also the past CEO jim Keyes really didn't do much for Blockbuster which shows that with poor ex-leadership the company is in this position NOW..... By the way the mom and pop video stores won't make a real difference because they will have the same problem that Blockbuster did and that's capital to invest in future technology to bring the movies to the customer quicker and more efficient !

A monopoly, by definition, involves one company having control. Since Netflix and Redbox are two separate companies, you are thinking of a duopoly. Besides, Netflix and Redbox still have iTunes, Amazon, Hulu, etc. to compete with so the elimination of Blockbuster will only prove how effective these companies are and that Blockbuster is a dinosaur that is now going extinct.
