Check out Aaron White's myspace. While I think Mr. White was justified in shooting that punk, this myspace is a little creepy.

You know, that's a good point. One I hadn't really thought of. I have been so wrapped up in explaining White's right to defend his family and property that I completely missed the point that even if these kids left Aaron would remain their future target.
After being thwarted by the cops it might even have enraged them more.
Nothing good could ever have come out of this incident. If it hadn't been Cicciaro to die ACCIDENTALLY by White's gun it might have been Aaron in a much more brutal MURDER, by the hands of Cicciaro and his "friends".
Exactly!!!:) Everybody is saying that MR. White took the law in his own hands by protecting his son, but not one person brought up the fact that Dan did the same thing. He was protecting the girl that said that aaron was the one writing threatening emails.then why didn't Dan call the cops so they can track the emails to the person who wrote them. If it was aaron (which it was not!!) then Aaron would have been arrested. So this also could have been avoided by Dans actions not only by MR. Whites.

Yes I am a mother and I have been through the wonderful HS experience with everyone threatening everyonelse it is sickening the way these kids behave now a days. When a different scenario happened (not on the same level) here I started with the parents then the school... I would never have confronted the angry mob in front of my house without calling the police that only makes things worse!
There was no winner here... if I were Mr White and got out of prison I could never sleep another sound night. I think I would have rather taken my chances.
Mr. White may feel the guilt later on, but I think knowing his son is safe will get him through. Being a parent is not an easy job, and when you see your child in danger you tend to do things that are not necessarily rational. This was not a school yard fight. I do not think the school or the parents would have been able to stop this.I an sure if you talked to dans mother she would tell you he has a history of drinking and getting in trouble. From the facts that are presented his drinking was not an isolated incident. This situation was more of a street issue than a school or home issue. Right now my prayers are with all the families involved. The only thing I hope for is that this teaches others a lesson to live and let live and if you feel someone you know needs protection from something know all the facts and deal with it constructiveley. If aaron was a rapist, roughing him up would not have stopped him from raping. So in reality Dan died for nothing. I think the one who really has to live with their own guilt is the girl who falsey accused Aaron. Because of her, a boy is dead and a father is in jail and the boy she accused went from feeling fear of these boys to feeling loss of his father. I hope she also learned a lesson.( A big lesson!!)Another fact to concider is that the Whites most likely will have to move out of the community, because it will be very difficult for Aaron to just go on with his life in the community that took so much from him.

I think White feels the giult now, how could he not I am sure he had no intentions of killing that kid. Personally though I feel as though he put his family on more harms way going out there with a gun....what if they got it, what if they used it? Just a shame he did not try and call the cops and stay inside. I bet he is wishing he did that now.

I do not know the mother or father, but if what you say is correct then I would feel bad for the kid because he had no clue from right and wrong.....

Your right, that night Dan did not know right from wrong; but not knowing right from wrong is not really an excuse. People who suffer from Skitzophrenia and kill someone while hearing voices telling them to do it still face the consequences. Dans only excuse is that he was drunk. In this case I believe the only true victim is aaron. My heart is breaking for him right now.

Oh I am sorry. I must have not read that part.So what you are saying is that Dan was invited to the whites house and Dan was asked to bring four other guys to Beat the hell out of Aaron. Your right I missed that part. I stand corrected.
No But what i am saying is that they had time to call the cops if the wanted to .

How doi you know that?

I have not seen any evidence that says that John White knew beforehand that Cicciaro and his friens were on their way to the house.

Aaron knew but if I recall correctly John was woken up to the gang of vigilantes on his lawn

sometimes things happen quickly, did anyone ever stop to think that mr white didn't call the police because he didn't want anyone to get in trouble, even those acquaintances of his son.
these boys went there drunk, with bats in their hands, blocking off the street with their cars looking for trouble hurling around racial slurs.the boys went to HIS house and property, HE didn't not go looking for them, they came to him.
if this was a gang of ms13 el salvo members or the kkk or any other hate group coming to YOUR HOME, YOU WOULD DO THE SAME, i know i would if me or my family was being threatened.
ONCE AGAIN READ EVERYTHING, THERE WAS ONE BAT INVOLVED AND THE BAT NEVER LEFT SERRANO'S VEHICLE. COME ON PEOPLE READ EVERYTHING AND REALLY PAY ATTENTION TO EVERY DETAIL.

As I recall, it was his son that woke him up to tell him that they were on the way after a cell phone call. Either way SOMEONE IN THAT HOUSE SHOULD HAVE called the cops! No one did, and he armed his own 17yr old son and put him in danger. Two wongs don't make a right!

Actually, according to the original accounts - he went out alone with his handgun.

Aaron followed him out with the shotgun John did NOT arm his son.

I'm sure the gun wasn't locked up, so sounds to me like he gave his son the gun. Either that or he carelessly left a loaded gun lying around the house. Either way...WRONG!

Oh, before I forget, the point of my post was that he had ample time to call police before going outside.

How do you know the shotgun wasn't locked up? How do you know it was loaded? I haven't seen a single account that says it was.

If White used the shotgun for hunting there's a very good chance that Aaron a 19year old, knew how to unlock the gun case.

C'mon a little simple logic here.

You don't know that either. He says he told his wife to call the cops as he was walking out the door.

Hindsight is 20/20 It's so very easy for you to sit here and say what he SHOULD have done.

Tell us about it when 5 teens start screaming at you on your front lawn at 1am how you react.
