Been around when HHM was at the Smithaven Mall -- in the 70s. Fr. Frank hails from Massapequa and comes from an Italian/Irish middle class large family; eldest of five. Know the "talk" of McNamara, however, in the late 70s when Fr. Frank moved HHM to Port Jefferson, Port Jefferson was a depressed mess and in dire need of a facelift -- it was for sure not the town it is today; thanks to The McNamara's who rescued it along with Lilco and their eyesore unsightly stacks. The North Shore doesn't want to admit they have family problems despite many being, in the passed, alcohol related now overtaken by perscripton drugs. Fr. Frank NEVER turns anyone away -- he sees mostly local Smithtown to Wading River families afflicted. St. Louis deMontfort has for ever had their own rather shall I say, "unique problems" very separate and not in any way affiliated with HHM. And Fr. Frank was never, ever alienated from ANY RCC -- any denomination church for that matter, St. Louis not withstanding. I know this to be fact. I know personally some "very high standing" residence of Port Jefferson ringing Fr. Frank's doorbell begging his help ON THEIR KNEES to see if he could get their son/daughter into St. John's, Marist, Iona, St. Joseph's, Infant Jesus, St. John the Baptist [I could go on here]. He's accompanied parent's to the Riverhead jail -- ah -- from Port Jefferson [not Port Jefferson Station]. He's a miracle worker for the wealthy in the community as well as the homeless, and everyone in between who has had a child ill or bullied, on drugs and alcohol, disfunctional families, and the displaced. Yes, he has helped the return soldiers... God help who is here condemning his good work. I know for sure Fr. Frank would help you, dispite your stoning him. Me? Oh, if ever I hear you say a slanderous, citical word of him -- well you'd be praying for your Patron Saint who'd most likely come in the form of Fr. Frank. JMJ mbgl JMJ

Fr. Frank is doing God's work, helping the community and those are our neighbors------some of youth are crisis. Maybe some that are literally near by high schools and Long Islanders. We can no longer overlook these problems-----it's at our doors steps. These are universal problems as we have witnessed through the media, we are just getting a glance of huge problem. There is disparity the haves and not. We are called to humanitarian call ---- and now is the time. We no longer can ignore those who are vulnerable, marginalized, those who are mentally ill, which are victims and now stigmatized by their neurological condition they are our some of most creative seers in society and wounded. We are called to be stewards of our brothers in which ever ideology or humanist belief system. Unfortunately we have witnessed firsthand of the world's suffering, have been bystanders to many problems not by fault really. Complacency is to continue with escapism of these realities and social world issues. Fr. Frank is a steadfast worker the adage comes to mind, Saint Francis prayer with loyalty to poor------every much in vein and tenet of Mother Theresa. To have religious ritual is beautiful but " works" without action are dead. Ask how you can love and be of service and see what happens as a world community. Evelyn artist Mrs. R. Z.
