money magazine is a joke....someone from emmaus commuting and writing for the magazine got town put on list...the way the national enquierer writers would get drunk and think up jeanne dixon predictions for the year.

Emmaus is a joke. I think they are putting in sidewalks for the military police.

I don't know how the Emmaus residents put up with those noisy freaking trains, blowing their horns at all hours of the day and night.

Since Emmaus banned dogs from its parks, how can it possibly be a great place to live: image does win over substance.

Why so negative? Emmaus might be going downhill, but look around you! There is no utopia. I for one am grateful to be living in Emmaus, train and all.

...it isn't allentown

emmaus may not be the best place on earth to live and it has its flaws, but it certainly is up there with the best of what the lehigh valley area has to offer.

Isn't that Emmaus' motto: "Atleast we're NOT Allentown" ?? Haha.

The desirability of an area is directly proportional to the percentage of "minority" populous.

The Lehigh Valley in all has turned into a sh*thole. It's half bedroom community for NJ/NY residents who don't take care of their properties and half easy drug sales.
What once could have been a nice area to raise kids has turned into an intersection of the worst parts of Philly, NYC, and NJ
You are absolutely correct.
The LV has become far to accessible to especially the NY influence. Whether it is the low life drug dealers and other criminals or the people with money who move here and commute because they can cash there higher NYC paychecks and have a lower cost of living in the valley. Yet in part thanks to them the cost of living here is rising.
Rather than clean up there own cesspool in NY they chose to move here and ruin what was once a beautiful area.
GO BACK TO NY!

Emmaus is nice enough, I suppose. I'll have to try the farmer's market - anybody have any input on that? I never knew they had one.
I like where I live better. Maybe it has something to do with not having public transportation available...

Whatever, Mr. Folland. The town's trying to improve its park system and you're criticizing it for that? Places change, just like people. If you don't want to see change you should buy some land in the wilderness and live in a cabin with no contact with the outside world.

Funny how Joyce Marin leaves Emmaus and it becomes a great place to live.

Maybe she should leave Allentown!

I live in N. Bethlehem and I beg to differ. I don't have any neighbors from NY/NJ and I don't have any drug sales in my neighborhood either. In case you haven't noticed, N. Bethlehem isn't exactly Compton.

The Farmers Market is held every Sunday 10 - 2. It's located in the parking lot of KNBT on Main St.

And the comment about the train...
It's the same one that runs thru Alburtis, Macungie, south Allentown...you get used to the sound. Kind of like living under the flight path of Lehigh Valley Airport or living close to Rt. 78 or 22.

Emmaus is a great place to live and raise your kids. I can't understand why the folks who comment here are so negative. Maybe it's because they need to get a life. Oops, so sorry...the devil made me do it.
