Sellersville must pay for quitting regional force

Sellersville must pay the Pennridge Regional Police Commission and two townships more than $600,000 for its share of costs after leaving the regional police force in 2002, a state court has ruled.

With all the problems caused by leaving a regional police force, why would anyone want to join one....?
Politicians take note....regional = bad.

Now they can start to build that 3 million dollar police headquarters at the East Rockhill Twp. park !

People can not even pay the home heating oil bill and they want to build this type of police building.

Despite good intentions from the public and political authorities, in the end it's the courts who rule everything.... Looks like Sellerville was ill advised by their attorney(s) regarding whether this separation was legel and/or violated the contract. In the end, it sounds like Sellerville might find it less expensive to join the Regional force rather pay and continue other services, though they might be in a catch 22 now....I guess the question is how's the service and how much do you want to pay for it? Regionalizing makes sense from a cost, organizational and operational stand point. Bad decisions =$$$$$
