Uneven police training in mental health issues
#2 Sep 14, 2012
Good info, and thanks for the link to the Sellersville situation. It shouldn't be forgotten, as some things such as the Groh shooting by a lawyer seem to have vanished. That department, with the poor handling of the incident (and so many others) certainly needs some training also. State Troopers generally set a good example at professionalism and tact with the public.

Everyone has a mental illness in one way or another. Some people act out violently, some people have addictions to cell phones which i honestly think is a mental illness too. If you can't put a phone down and constantly looking at it 24/7 and need to use it driving that is a mental illness.
Also that guy who was shot could have easily been tazed and cuffed. The police today are just criminals with badges looking to create havoc. Im sorry getting kicked in the groin and punched in the face is justified to shoot somebody?
Too many macho cops watching Die Hard movies too much and trying to emulate it.
