It must be tiring jumping to conclusions all the time without any real information on what happened. He was 'in-extremis', look up the defination. He would not of survived the flight and had to go to the closest ER regardless of whether its a trauma hospital or not. Dominican did everything they could to save this mans life and his injuries were so severe he would not of fared any better at a trauma hospital.

Wow, I wasn't paying attention to the news the last few days. Read that a man was hit and killed thought how sad, then I saw his picture and was even more devistated since I actually knew him. I only knew him from getting coffee at the ugly and saying what's up when we would see each other by our work places walking. Always was quick to talk about his kids and race cars, seemed like that was his life, besides his skill at being a medical machinist. It was an honor to have met him. Race on brother!

This is a tragedy for a real family.

Like the Sgt. oh Hill Street Blues used to say: "Let's be careful out there, people."

I am again dismayed at how many pedestrians get hit in Santa Cruz County. I have lived many places and I never seen this many people getting hit before. I have noticed that the county lacks sufficient street lights. Take a look when you go out and about at night, it's really dark.

My heart goes out to his family and friends.

I live around this neighborhood. Take walks along that street. I have probably seen him. How sad to
park your car, get out, and then you are gone.

When a pedestrian gets struck by vehicle, there's a good chance he died immediately upon impact, which means by the time the ambulance gets there, he's DOA (dead on arrival). Thus, no helicopter ride.

When someone gets stabbed and they survive with a critical injury (ie: to the neck) they have to transport them to the trauma center, via "lifeflight".

No need to be racist.

“Take that !”
