Ben Rice: "...some nut, or some, you know, well-meaning person who makes a decision to break a window or whatever..."

Can someone explain how a 'well-meaning person' would decide to break a window at a rally? Unless you're doing it to rescue someone, how can breaking a window be 'well-meaning'??

Did anyone see the thread on Indycrap about how "Food is A right"?

I keep on reminding BJ that she doesn't have to exercise that "right" so often, and maybe try getting some real exercise.

That one doesn't last long either.

The one good thing about Norse and Pancakes flapping their pie holes is that they hurt their case with each and every utterance. If those two losers left Santa Cruz significant progress might be made to improve the lot of the homeless.

I like how Becky's guns have fallen silent. Her lack of self-awareness is astounding, sometimes. I mean, she throws out all species of meritless accusations against people, and then has the temerity to lecture detractors who make perfectly sound counter-claims that "flinging mud rarely accomplishes" anything. Gotta love that one :-)

I wrote one for Kahn-job:

The Shawshank Redemption.

Robert, did you see the part in the movie where the hardcase make bets on who gets hysterical and screams for their Mommy the first night in jail?

I'd put my money on the walking toilet brush.

"And it's Licebeard by a nose"

Robert, maybe you should have put your life of absurd privilege to good use, instead of abusing and exploiting the dregs of society for your sick, evil empowerment agenda.

Let's see how long it stays up?

Licebeard is already throwing tantrums and whining up a storm on IndyCrap. Can you imagine when he's in a cell? Personally, I think he'll be fine. Who would go near that smelly armpit without a Hazmat suit?

Mine for today:(in the Bust the Banksters thread)

Have to laugh about NorseKahn railing on the 'privilege of wealth'.
You mean like never having to work a day in your life and costing the public monies for your own personal crusades? That type of privilege?
Even more funny is complaining that a comment isn't posted. Comments disappear from Indybay all the time.

Another one:

For those interested in the Donna Vieira case, I suggest you google the name.
A real estate appraiser herself, she claims WF is responsible for the high appraisal, in spite of the fact that they chose to pay the $715K price before WF was involved.
Did I mention that this was a second home, and a strategic default?
I'm sure there are hardship cases out there, but this, IMO isn't one of them.
A speculator buys at the peak of the market and defaults to get out of their underwater second home.

From the Vieira court case:
...Specifically, appellants failed to provide sufficient evidence to support their claims. As the district court properly noted in its order, appellants failed to show any basis for reliance or causation based on respondents' conduct, as was necessary, because appellants entered into the contract to purchase the home well before the appraisal occurred and nothing in the contract provided for cancellation of the contract based on failure to obtain financing or for an appraisal value lower than the sale price...

My "Shawshank" post is still up at 10:30.

What a surprise, the Indycrap monitors haven't gotten up yet.

This is off topic (re: Vieira) but is so BeckyLogic that I had to share.
From nojusticezone.com

"A couple of weeks after we confronted Wells Fargo and Freddie Mac, Wells Fargo's CFO and Freddie Mac's COO both resigned just one day apart from each other. We highly suspect the resignations were triggered by Wells Fargo irregularity of fillings."

Uh, yeah. WF and FM execs resigned because WF gave you the loan you asked for on your overvalued house. Suuuuuure they did.

Surprise! As of 2:50, this one is gone.
Can anyone tell me why the facts of this case are worthy of deletion?

<quoted text>
Probably because it contradicts the premise the "The Kahn-job", BJ, and the rest of the OSC crowd proliferate about Wells Fargo and the American Banking Institutions foreclosing on people's homes out of some form of greed. This case shows that the greed is on the part of the home owners who purposely defaulted. But then, when did "The Kahn-job", BJ, or OSC ever let the truth get in the way of their "activism"?

I like how the censors on Indycrap instantly censor anything that Kahn-job doesn't like.

But the ones that trash BJ stay there.

Like the one calling her out for her "understanding" of Tax codes.

Indycrap has me on "Instant delete" again.

I'll have to switch my modem off for an hour to let it reset.

I guess Robert doesn't like hearing about the 15-year old that accomplished more in a week, than Kahn-job and BJ have in the last 20 years.

I'm reposting this excellent commentary from Indybay. I didn't write it. It's so well written, and so airtight, that Becks wasn't able to come up with even her usual mentally-ill-middle-aged-overw eight-hag response. She just slunk away in the night. And, amazingly, Indybay has left it up. Even the Stasi there seem to think there's merit to the argument:

"If you have (been) trying to verify your claim that a corporation (or anyone else for that matter) can receive an tax deduction for income they did not receive and have been unable to do so, why do you continue to put that claim forward? From a journalist's perspective, wouldn't it be more responsible to find out the truth first? Making groundless assertions and then asking people who call you on it to prove you wrong is not how journalism...even "advocacy journalism"...works. When you don the mantle of "journalist", you enter into a social contract with the general public to provide factual information; if you cannot determine that what you write is factual, you should not publish it until you have.
Would you agree that it would not be fair to tax you on income you did not earn while you deal with your legal situation? Would you also agree that it would not be fair for you to claim a deduction for any income you did not earn during that time? Another example: I have a lovely garage at my house....perfect for storing antiques, classic cars....or whatever. It's very clean and secure, so I feel it should fetch a rent of $1,000 a month. However, no one has rented it. Does that mean that I can claim a $12,000/year deduction on my income tax? Of course not."

To be continued...
