If you will allow me to correct that: Sharpshooter qualified, AKA "sniper", requested Paratrooper training. Was still in training when the shooting in Europe stopped(VE Day). He was 6 months too young (1927). The High School class before his got shredded by Machineguns on the beaches of Normandy. His was the first Class that didn't see Combat. He did have to guard some particularly nasty Wermacht POWs (In 1947 they still believed the Third Reich would rise again) that were being held Stateside. The War was not technically or legally over until 1948, so anyone in the Military during that time was considered a WWII Veteran.

And no John, they didn't allow nine-year-olds to storm Omaha Beach!!

Correction: The Federal Government defines a WW II veteran as someone who served at least 90 days active service during the period September 16, 1940 thru July 24, 1947 and must have received an other than dishonorable discharge.

Thanks Don, I was under the impression that the War was declared "over" in 1948 under the Marshall plan.

That was probably only in reference to the WWII-related activities that were governed and managed by the Marshall Plan.

Government bureaucracy likes to make things difficult. Check this out. The award of the WWII Victory Medal is only for those who served December 7, 1941 thru December 31, 1946. So someone could legally be defined as a WWII veteran by the government but yet not be eligible for the WWII Victory Medal. Go figure.

Since you started a thread claiming your dad was a WWII vet, John "reality Check'" Colby, it shows what a liar you are.
Just like your dad running around with a full loaded diaper during World War II you're running around with one right now. Unfortunately your spillage contaminates these threads.

Yes, I started a thread about MY father, not John Colby's.

If calling me "John Colby" is all you trolls can do, then I have already won in this forum....

I see it as a form of you quitting. You gave up arguing with me because I outed you as the flabby, welfare receiving, fraud you really are.

Buzz calls me "John Colby" because he is angry about this:

DANGEROUS TEACHER IN SCOTTS VALLEY: Click on the following link to read abusive posts by "Buzz", but be prepared, they are very lewd:

Archive for abuse posts/incest allegations by Buzz:

THIS A WARNING FOR ALL PARENTS, THERE IS AN ABUSIVE TEACHER/PREDATOR IN THE COMMUNITY: Please read this post for important safety information about an individual who says he is a teacher in Scotts Valley. Topix user "Buzz" posts about incest, and incest is no joking matter, it is a sign of abuse in the family. Please distribute this information widely!

Buzz says he has been teaching for 40 years and he is Scotts Valley based. Buzz is his nickname and it refers to the large appetite he had when he was a kid. He claims to have a master's degree and he says he went to UCSC. Buzz is most likely in his early to mid 60s, and he has said he weighs over 200 pounds, but he may have chaged his appearance recently.

Please help us gather more info about this dangerous person! Share this with your parents groups! Share this info with all of your friends!

I just found a couple of more quotes from Buzz that should make it easier to track him down. I will update the predator alerts soon!

Buzz quotes:

"Too bad Buzz lives in an $800K, house and is retired with a pension and investments, while ColbyLoser lives in section 8 housing"

"P.S. ColbyLoser the letters I receive from UC-Berkeley are addressed to "Dr. Buzz". I had no trouble ever finding a job and build a nice life for my family. I sure wouldn't be bragging about an advanced degree if I had your life, John."

Keep searching for Buzz, people, the community needs to be warned!

I think my favorite Becky Johnson moment on topix is when she found out that you are fat.

She laughed at your manboobs and you had the thread deleted lol

I was the one who got you to admit you are fat, after you called women on topix fat for years without anyone really knowing that you, DBS, are the fattest poster on topix.

Here is why DBS started this thread, because I posted this:

Maybe DBS learned to be a spoiled baby from his father, the rags to riches businessman who got his start by receiving welfare after WWII.

DBS's father, who had trouble making his own way after WWII, elected to receive welfare benefits. Later in life he became wealthy. Wealthy enough to set up a large trust fund for DBS. DBS will never have to work a day in his life and he tells people that he is "retired" as his lives the easy life.

DBS says his dad complained about his pay during WWII. I think this has contributed to DBS's spoiled baby mentality.

My father served in WWII, but unlike DBS's father, my father never complained about the pay he received for protecting our country and freedom worldwide.

My father also chose NOT to receive welfare benefits after the war, He was too proud to ever accept ANY form of public assistance.

DBS's father has made the excuse that he wasn't paid well enough during the war, so that's why he accepted welfare.

This is a total leech attitude.

It disrespects our military.

It disrespects our country.

No wonder DBS wont work now.

I also posted this, which bothered DBS as well:

My father was a patriot.

He was a WWII combat veteran who never ever complained about what the military paid him.

When he returned home from valiant service, he refused to accept any form of public assistance or GI Bill Welfare Benefits.

He instilled this belief in us, his children, and none of our family have ever received a dime in public assistance funds.

DBS and his family are different.

His father needed help after the war, so he chose to accept welfare benefits.

From the wikipedia page about the GI Welfare Benefits Bill...

"Benefits included low-cost mortgages, low-interest loans to start a business or farm, cash payments of tuition and living expenses to attend college, high school or vocational education, as well as one year of unemployment compensation."

Whether DBS's father needed help with school, or with food stamps, or with SSI, it doesn't matter, he asked for help and our country stepped up to the plate.

It makes me proud as a taxpayer to have helped DBS and his family.

And I have honored my father by following in his footsteps.

I have never accepted public assistance, and the taxes I pay go to help DBS's son with his education.

My father was a patriot. He was a proud man.

He paid taxes to help the DBS family, and he never complained about what he earned in the military during WWII, and he never accepted GI Bill Welfare Benefits.

I don't know anyone named "Pat".

Are you ashamed of your father for accepting welfare, DBS?

Do your fellow Take Back Santa Cruz members look down on you for your acceptance of welfare?
