Come out and join the fun. There will be a car show, street dance and beauty contests Friday night, along with street vendors, inflatables, and a carnival! Saturday there will be a parade, baby contests, quilt show, pedal pull, cake bingo, corn hole tournament, auction, music throughout the day and more! Hope to see you there.

Maybe, but that is subjective. Why is it a "dry" county here in the 21st century? When is this place going to move on and let individuals make their own choices instead of trying to prohibit?

I know of several bootleggers here. They have been around for ages and will always be around. This county is definitely not a dry county.

I think I'll save my $3.00 and stay home instead of getting a cold pork burger this year.

This town needs some kind of rejuvenation. Young people are not attracted to this area due to a lack of enjoyable activites. There is no park, no game room, nothing. The old ball park is closed unless it is Sonora Days. I remember a time when the gates were never locked and people would just go hang out there. Yes, a few bad apples probably spoiled the bunch, but this is a new time and people want things to do.

ohhh sonora days suckedddd...majorly...Who wants to 'enjoy' vendors that sell avon, or chances to win a rabbit that you cant win?? ANDDD who wants to pay 5 bucks for freakin lemonade??? Then, the parade lasted five minutes, thanks mostly to firetrucks. Ugh. Major waste of my time..The dance thing should have been saturday to attract the younger crowd, and the gospel thing should have been friday..

We went to the Sonora Days festival and I really have to say it was the worst day we have ever experienced. It had the shortest parade ever.Few booths and was timed to be in the hottest time of the day.Whoever planned the festivities wasted thier time and money.Well there is always Upton Days at least there is some time and planning put into thier activities.

Yup, lookin forward to upton days now...at least they have SOMETHING for everyone to do all day..even if it is a small thing...WHy, at sonora days, were the inflatables only out for a coupl eof hours??? HINT HINT FOR NEXT YEAR...no matter if you have gospel or dance or kareoke, leave something for the smaller kids to do. This years crowd for the parade?? LOW!! they put out bleachers and didnt even need them!! and whoever was in charge of the cars during/after the parade pulling out..you need to get some kind of situation going to where they have to wait til the people clear out of the side of the road across from the funeral home after the parade so the kids wont get hit because the road is so small there...just five mins to clear out...the highlight for my kid was getting an inflatable dora blow up thingy(which thank you vendor who had a booth for it, he adores it).. The halloween/hill of terror thing was the coolest thing sonora had going, and they werent from sonora!!! I'm sorry, I'm ranting..I just expected more..Sonora days is apparently for the 50 and over crowd anymore..

BUt...I did go to that website for the hill of terror thing, and I plan on going to it, so I guess that was my highlight of the day. Thanks for giving me a closer halloween thing to go to!!

The inflatables went up on Friday afternoon at 4:30 and stayed up until Saturday afternoon until 4:30, so I am not sure where you were - but it wasn't Sonora. As far as being a hit - this festival went against hot weather (which can't be predicted), the chance of rain off an on all weekend, weddings, graduations, graduation parties and more. The people who work on this should be applauded as to the effort they put into it. It is easy to sit and pass judgment on something that you had nothing to do with. Instead - why don't you get up and offer to help out?

The "dance thing" is never done right. Should be at a place TO dance with an approprate floor.
