I just read on the other blog Mayor DeMaria has made his choice for the new Veterans Services Director. After an extensive state wide search, if true what a waste of money, he will be appointing Common Councilor from ward 1, Millie Cardello.

I bet Joe Hickey isn't too happy!

Joe Hickey told the Mayor as long as he did not go outside Everett that he is fine with it so the Mayor can not make a decision on his own and does what other people say. Favors of votes on the common council maybe? That makes this a political appointment and against MGL. Dead wrong!

Actually, someone named Millie (of course cannot verify if it's her) left a message on the other blog that she has not been offered the position. Although, I am not sure how that got around so quick. I doubt very much that it was "only" the blogs

David Ravenese is lobbying for Jeanie Cristiano for the Veterens job. He held a fundraiser for the Mayor the other night for business owners for $250 a head. Its all political and it looks like the best woman for the job (Millie) isn't going to get it.
