Frustrated in Von Ormy
San Antonio, TX
|
We are delighted to read (November 19, 2008 Agenda) that the new city council of Von Ormy is considering an ordinance that restricts sexually oriented businesses in Von Ormy. For many years, our concerns and complaints have fallen on deaf ears with county authorities regarding one such location; Twin Theatre located in Von Ormy. We encourage all concerned residents of Von Ormy to make their voices heard regarding this very important issue. Please contact your new city council and tell them we've had enough with Twin Theatre. Shut them down, or move them out of Von Ormy.

i know someone who previously worked at twin theatre and quit due to all the explicit activity that was happening there, something needs to be done about this place because a known fact is that even the owners are involved in the explicit content going down in there...

I've heard so many sickening stories about this place as well. Surprised business is allowed to remain open. Maybe a few phone calls to Susan Reed, District Attorney, will spark some interest into this corrupt business? IRS should launch an investigation too. They might be surprised at what they find.

one question though? How is it that you'll can take a sexually explicit place when its not even in the von ormy boundries. According to the mayor art martinez on the other side of Sacred Heart church going 35 north is San Antonio's problem. If so why am I still bathing in well water instead of atascosa water. Because I don't live in Von Ormy, and I live not even a block away from menchacas.

I applaud this business because they take care of a clientale that would be out of the street molesting some innocent kid. Nobody makes anyone go in to those places. I don't go and would not go because those places do not appeal to me. I am happy with what I have at home and I am not interested in going in to those places. I had not heard about this place until I read this column. I believe everyone should sit back and mind their own business. I don't believe the owners would let any shananigans go on in there. Besides, nobody should tell anybody what kind of business they should run. I guess in short everybody should get a life and stop worrying about who goes where. This place probably has created revenue for your city and jobs. Let people be, mind your own business and you won't be bothered by this place. He dicho!!!

I agree with Dixie Dandy. Everything you say is true. How can anybody be bothered by a business that's so far off the beaten path it's not even visible from the road? So there's a sign - big deal. I think the bluenosed busybodies are just jealous that someone may be having more fun than they are.

I have looked into concerns about this place. One lady told me that developers want to buy this land because they want to develop a high security prison. I think this may be a better use for this property. I knew that the new railroad facility would bring new opportunities to the area and I guess a high security prison would create new jobs. I just wonder if they are going to use stimulas money to build this.

Truth-B-Told if this building is off the road and cannot be seen then what is all the fuss about. Travelers should not be bothered and like I said if people don't like these kind of things they should ignore that they are there and mind their own business. However, I have a bigger concern. Is this place in an historic neighborhood or have historic value. There are many places in Von Ormy that should be on the Texas Register as a historic site. I bet this is one of those. It would be a shame to close the building down because vandels will show no mercy and a valuable historic landmark would be gone forever. I will try and see if the historic commission would want to list this place.

Dobie..are you sure you ran out before you enjoyed yourself. I am told that nothing goes on in there. They are not selling sex in there. There is no lap dancing going on. It is simply for people to enjoy watching movies. I see nothing wrong with people watching movies. Bexar County Sheriff cars have been seen there for long periods at a time. They often go in and be seated and see nothing out of order. If it is good enough for them then everyone should just leave it alone. There is nothing unethical going on. Trust me, if it were the sheriff's office would be the first to let us know.

OMG! We always knew that eventually the truth would prevail about this disgusting place. This new information provides our group with more ammunition to combat this sorry place. Now it's time for the Bexar County Sheriff's Department to take action and do their part. Curious here. For someone that claims not to be a customer, how is it that Dixiedandy has so much inside information about how long Bexar County Sheriff's cars are there, and that they actually sit down and view movies? You'd have to be at this place and inside theaters to know this? And they'd have to be complete idiots for jeopardizing their job. Are you a devoted customer, employee, owner? Go figure! The link provided is proof enough for us. At minimum, it warrants investigation. Stayed tuned for the eventual demise of this place.

This is the most disgusting, yet informative bit of valuable information that I've ever seen regarding regarding this adult video store. To think that customers pay $10 admission to theaters to engage in random sex is crazy. Then people wonder why STD's are so prevalent. And to suggest that the owner and management is not aware of this? C'mon, we weren't born yesterday. Why would all these customers take the time to post their sexual experiences if they were not true? What would the purpose be? Regardless, you can bet that calls to the Sheriff's Department will be made immediately.

The posts on the referenced website are sickening to say the least. We are having a difficult time understanding why the Sheriff's Department allows this type of activity? One can only assume complete ignorance on part of the Sheriff's Department, their inabililty to "serve and protect", in cahoots with owner? Show us your stuff Sheriff's Department!

I seriously doubt that a converted double wide mobile home qualifies as a historical site. Also, if it was a historical site, that still doesn't justify the illegal activity in theaters. Close this illegal sex house!

Does anyone really know if the Bexar County Sheriff's Department is even doing anything about this problem? It's an odd question to ask given the responses posted on here. Their lack of concern comes as no surprise.

My wife and I have discussed this issue the past several days, and we are dumbfounded as to how this business has managed to remain open, given the illegal activity that allegedly occurs there. After reading through some of the posts on Squirt, they don't leave much to the imagination. Immoral and disgusting to say the least. Not to mention illegal. Is someone receiving a kickback here? Sure seems like it. Fess up Sheriff!
