Joseph Draper of New York made one of the oldest photographic portraits known in 1839. Lincoln was then 31. Abraham was still wearing buckskin pants and going barefoot at the time. You could find him reading a law book under a shade tree in Springfield.

Abraham Lincoln was not biracial. Both his mother and his father's ancestors came from England.
Lincoln moved America away from an aristocratic society, based on inheritance and property. His policies helped create the richest nation on earth.
