There is a huge cave off of Piney Grove rd (White Lily) You turn on the dirt road behind Piney Grove Baptist church. You have to follow the rd all the way up, once you reach the clearing, cross the field, go through the woods to the left. I have heard that this is private property now so you might want to check on that. We used to camp out there when we were kids. Soryy for the redneck directions!

Short Creek when the water's down....one on Buck Creek near the hwy 80 bridge at Stab. There's also one up the road from Short Creek past the Pleasant Run Church. East 80 near the Laurel Co line on the right....close to Rockcastle River....Several around the Lake as well as abandoned train tunnels.

I got a question why is it called splunking. Why not caving. Or better yet why is it not called crawling in the dirt in the dark.

Haaaaaaahahahahaha! For sure, lol.

But you gotta give 'em all credit. I'm a tad bit claustrophobic. I can't even watch them explore caves on T.V. Specially the ones they have to scuba dive in. Nope, no way. If it's a BIG cave and I can see daylights up ahead, well maybe....

I know the area very well. Where exactly is this cave? They are logging there now right? Bunch of turkey. Am I right?

So this cave is high enough not to knock your head on the roof of while you walk around in it? And wide? I might be persuaded to go into one like that. I'm nervous of small, closed in places.

I remember going to Mammoth Caves as a kid. It was fun. You're right. Maybe I should try it again. Thanks.

Glad someone mentioned this one. Last time I was in there I ended up with 6 stitches the next day. Four of our friends went "exploring" while the rest of us took a break. About 12 hours later we are still looking for them. When we found them we could hear them crying as they thought they would die (it's funny now), their only flashlight was long dead. I was trying to get to them and fell down between to rocks head first.

When I got out they told me they could see my skull and the docs didn't have to x-ray. I would love to go back. Grafitti was bad but the scenery is awesome. Have you been up "corn flakes crawl" or to "Bare Bev's belley crawl"? Some of the names on the map.

No doubt.....actually I saw or read somewhere that there is a difference between spelunking and caving....but I can't remember what the diff was.

Sloans Valley is awesome, I have been goin for awhile, although I cant remember any names of the rooms, other than "bare bevs belly crawl", "mud room", & "lake room 1 & 2"!! Lehi & Hachet Jack, have either one of you all been through the minton hollow entrance, on top of the hill behind Toms house, or went in the garbage pit and came out the tunnel beside the old Ashland gas station!?

Daily Horoscope for May 18

Pisces

There's a clash today between the past and the present. Someone wants to dwell nostalgically on the good old days but someone else is determined to forget all that and only concentrate on the here and now. The trouble is that neither side will want to concede to the other person's point of view, leading to bad feelings and upsets. If you are one of these people, try not to be too entrenched in your own opinions.
