What kind of phone number do they assign to you? I don't currently have a number so I'm just wondering if it is like a cell # or landline #

I started this thread back few mnths ago because i was thinking of switching my mother from her Time Warner home phone to Str8 talk home phone, i as well was leary, hence the thread asking for info. I was going to switch to it and when i called Time Warner to tell them i would be having moms phone disconnected they asked why, of course i told them i was going to Str8 talk, it was cheaper and would save her $30 a mnth on her phone bill, they worked her a deal out on her home phone and it saved her $26, so the $4 difference was worth it to me not to have to deal with all the for people.....i see mixed comments on str8 talk home phone, so got leary, altho i do have str8 talk cell phone and its fantastic...have no problems and never have had to talk to a customer ser rep yet.

Got the homephone from walmart. Activared it after a bit of a problem online. First call to UK you dial a long distance number god knows where. Then dial your international call number when you get the next dial tone. The call quality of the3 calls I have made to the UK just plain sucks. You kbow it from the moment the international access number answers. The quality just drops off the planet. Regular local and long distance call quality is excellent. I have a very good connection. Our straighttalk mobile gets 5 bars in the same location.

I bought the device and the aircard did everything I was supposed to do then called to activate. They said it would be going in 24 hours. 4 days later I called back and waited on hold for 42 minutes then got tranfered to 3 different people only to find out they can't transfer my number. They wanted to give me some random number that's not going to be in any phone book or anywhere. I have had this number for 23 years and don't plan on just switching to something they pull out of thin air. So now I have to try to return this $99 device that I don't have the box for and the pin is already scratched off the aircard so it looks like they screwed me out of $115 plus tax. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!
If you have your receipt if you bought it from Walmart they will take it back for a refund within 15 days. Also if the airtime card never went through on straight talks end, that can also be refunded. The POS system will tell if the airtime card was processed or not and refund or not accordingly..even if the pin number is scratched off the back. FYI.

It runs on Verizon Wireless's network so as long as you have Verizon signal youre good to go. Placing the base near a window helps with the gps chip in the base unit.
Hello,StraghtTalk is a product of Trac-Phone but actually ueses At&T and Verizon's towers!:)

I have been a loyal StraightTalk customer for over 3 years both with my wireless and now home phone. I have found their service and signal to be above average! Customer service is outsourced, but the reps make every attempt to be clear, helpful and patient. I do a lot of traveling and find my reception is good almost everywhere because of the flexability with the towers. Also my 3G network is much faster than my fiance's phone which is an IPhone!! For the cost, there is no better value!!

Bought Straight Talk Home from Wal Mart, got it home unwrapped it and followed all directions. Worked fine for about 10 days........ Now it won't ring !!!!! It's crazy, I missed out on a free dinner from the neighbors. Missed out on job interview so I guess I'll stick with my Obama phone. It's Mickey Mouse enough. I'll just do without a home phone. One good thing about no home phone, No solicitors !!!!!!!!
