Just wondering if anybody has this new form of home phone from Straight Talk and how do you like it and what kind of service you getting? I have the cell phone thru Str8 Talk and it is great, home phone is a small box you buy for $99, works on a GPS chip inside, no internet needed and you can keep your same number and its only $15 amonth unlimited local and long distance calling, tired of Time Warner raping monthy for a phone and internet and cable, if i do away with there phone will save me $30 mnth, any input would be appreciated,

The website says you need to keep the base near a windon for better signal, have you done that or just have it inside interior of your house? Gets good signal then? Thanks for the info, much appreciated!

you buy the base unit, its $99.oo, then you pay $15 a month for unlimited local and long distance or $30 for unlimited international calls.

It runs on Verizon Wireless's network so as long as you have Verizon signal youre good to go. Placing the base near a window helps with the gps chip in the base unit.

I bought a Straight Talk home phone at Walmart and it worked great for a couple of days so I decided to port my old phone number to it and that's when the trouble started. I could not understand their service reps speaking broken English a mile a minute and long story short - they finally got my old number working after 4 or 5 days without a phone and it worked for 2 days then they turned it off - had to go borrow a phone and call in - back to the broken English reps. Told me to dial * something to re-program it - did that - tried to make a call and operator came on and said I was out of minutes and I had only had it 2 weeks and paid for 30 days up front. Took my box back to Walmart and got the $99 back (No refund on the 30 day card). Went across the street to Verizon (They have the same thing for $19.95 per month with free box but a 2 year contract)which to me is well worth the diff. Have not had any trouble with Verizon for over a month now. The man at the Verizon store said if I had any trouble come see him and he would take care of it.

Something else to think about is that if you have a DVR through Dish or DirecTV you won't be able to use this phone system with that. Nor will you be able to use a security system with it....it isn't compatible with data services.

I had horrible experience with the csr reps, can't understand them. One told me she was smarter than her supervisors, one told me four times here is the deal. One accused me of cancelling the porting of my ATT number, another told me I am giving them the wrong number to port. They told me ATT had no record of that phone number, I have paid ATT for nine years for some number and I had a working number with them. I returned it, they never got the number ported, also demanded Walmart a refund of my $15 card too. They did it

I have the home phone. My complaint is that the voice of callers sounds muffled in comparison to POTS or even my ST cell phone.

I love mine. Works great, switchover was flawless for me. Works on Verizon but my Straight Talk cell phone works on Verizon too so I'm very pleased. I highly recommend!

Port from Cox to straight talk was a nightmare, 4 to 5 hours on the phone with customer service over a dozen calls
. But all is good now and for $15.00 a month I have to say in the long run it was worth it

I bought the device and the aircard did everything I was supposed to do then called to activate. They said it would be going in 24 hours. 4 days later I called back and waited on hold for 42 minutes then got tranfered to 3 different people only to find out they can't transfer my number. They wanted to give me some random number that's not going to be in any phone book or anywhere. I have had this number for 23 years and don't plan on just switching to something they pull out of thin air. So now I have to try to return this $99 device that I don't have the box for and the pin is already scratched off the aircard so it looks like they screwed me out of $115 plus tax. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!

Love the cheapness but sick and tired of no customer service you can't understand them. I live in America and want to speak to an American in clear English decided to go elsewhere.

I been using it for a month, I have it hooked into one jack and it works throughout all my jacks. No issues, so much better than Magic Jack.
