I get all my stuff from Kroger....one stop shop.

Lump charcoal, hickory chips, hickory chunks, rub, Boston Butt, and all of the stuff for my brining mixture. All of it's good too. They also offer apple and mesquite chips and chunks as well.

Royal oak is good. Buy most of my butts at walmart. Walmart is also one of the few places to get a whole brisket. Steaks and hambuger anywere but walmart. If your new to all of this google BBQ Brethern Forums, you can read till your eyes cross.

I buy the lump charcoal at Kroger. Royal Oak is good too. Those briskets you buy at Wal-Mart are Select grade meat. That's pretty low rate stuff.

Yeah......ever since we had to make about 14 pit stops on a three hour trip back from Bristol, I've sworn off ANY meat from Wal Mart. The steaks we ate the night before were my first and last experiences with Wal Mart meat.

Where in somerset would you suggest briskets in somerset. Only thing else I found was corned-beef. My favorite brisket cooks for 24hr. Have fixed around 12 from wal-mart, so for so good. Jumper, was those steaks well-done?

No....never over medium rare for me. I'm a big fan of Kroger's meat. You can get a brisket here in Richmond at Kroger ....uncle Charlie 's....you should be able to get em anywhere where they still butcher in house. Food fair? There was a slaughter housee iin Nancy if I remember right....some amish butchers up around crab orchard, and of course liberty. Maybe Kroger.
