I am new to somerset and have 2 large dogs that we board often. I need to know where the best place for dog boarding/kennels is. I have only found one, but it's in London. Anything closer?

Somerset pet Lodge is very nice. We have boarded our two lab mixes there a couple of times. They have a nice facility and take good care of the dogs. We have been happy with them.

There is a new one at Moody Farms in Ferguson. It is very nice and clean. Plus the area for the dogs to stay on is huge compared to other places.

Somerset Pet Lodge is awesome! They do a great grooming job too. They require up to date immunizations which I like because it protects the animals.

For Paws Unleashed is in Richmond and it is an amazing place!! I know it's inconvenient being that far away but it's well worth it.

So, in the Somerset area, what else do you all recommend. Moody's place is way too high. I know you get what you pay for, but I have 4 dogs and can't afford his price. There has to be other places here that is good and more reasonable.

That is about it for Somerset - Somerset Pet Lodge, Paul Moody's and assorted vets. There are at least two places in Laurel County. One is in Keavy and one in Pittsburg - I think. One is Laura's Pet Retreat.

How much is it at Moodys? Somerset veterinarian is about $13 a day, I have only dealt with them.

The Pet Motel. The kennels are much bigger that other places and the dogs actually have room. Something he kept stressing to us, which we had never thought about, was if you needed to spend the night somewhere would you go to the hospital or a doctor's office? I had never thought about that but at Midway and some of the other places your dog will be places sick animals have been.

I take mine to Animal Care Center (vet). They have to be up to date on shots. Mine are under 30 lbs, $8.50 a day. Be careful where you board, one I know of has put dogs in together and at least one was killed, other(s) have been injured.......

I'm pretty sure that Somerset Pet Lodge also offers discounts for families with multiple dogs. They have large suites and they do personal playtime with all the pups that stay there. Our dogs love it there and we highly recommend them!!!

Anyone know of a obedience training place for dogs here in Somerset that charges less than 300 for 3 weeks of training?

i just used moody farms and my dogs seemed to like it. It is clean and has a large area for the dogs to stay in and reasonably priced. He also let me pick up on Sunday which was great.

I use Prefurred Dog Grooming & Boarding on West 80. No complaints from me. They did a great job keeping my dogs while I was on Vacation.

Moody is just an all around great man to deal with. He stays up late am doesn't care to meet you on Sundays, evenings, etc.. There is much more room there and you get what you pay for

I visited Paul Moody's Pet Motel a couple of weeks ago. It is a very nice facility, well designed and thought out. And Paul is a nice guy. The Pet Motel and Equestrian Center (horse barn plus) are on the same farm that he lives on, so he is nearby. It is only 5 or 10 minutes from Fountain Square or Hwy 27.

I boarded my dog at Somerset Pet Lodge and will never take him back. They told me he had a couple of accidents, which he never does at home. When I got him home he drank up too full howls of water, and they had clearly withheld water from him because they didn't want to take him out. He has never had issues anywhere else.
